[run event] DreamWorks Day 2017

DreamWorks Day 2017 was the first DreamWorks themed running event in Asia! Runners had a choice to have their children participate in the 800M kid dash or to join the 5KM fun run! You did not need to be a running junkie to enjoy the event, as there was a fun carnival at the race village, which offered various kid-friendly activities for the whole family.

Baby and I signed up for the 5km fun run, and as a fan of the animated movies, I was really looking forward to the run. The race pack was collected at Velocity and the collection was smooth. There wasno queue at all!

At the carnival, 'The Rock Wall' was very popular among the children!

We ran along the scenic route of Gardens by the Bay (East). On our way back to the finish line, the NDP aerial rehearsal was going on at the same time, as evident by the loud sound from the fly-by of the fighter jet planes! After we crossed the finishing line, we were given a finisher medal, cap and of course a bottle of mineral water.

I absolutely love the finisher medal, and I am glad to add it to my collection of race medals! This event offered family bonding and quality time spent together!

I enjoyed the run, though the weather was scorching when we were running. I was kinda disappointed by the numbers of DreamWorks mascots that appeared during the event. Although there was much advertising on famous characters such as Shrek, and the characters from Madagascar, the did not appear. The only mascots that appeared at the events were Po from Kungfu Panda and the Trolls! I hope to see more real-life mascots at their future events!

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to XCHANGE REPUBLIC for having me in the race. If you missed the chance to participate in the DreamWorks Day this year, fret not, as there's always next year.
