[Dine & Drink] Dinner at Mrs Pho & New Teck Kee Chicken Rice Restaurant + Sixteen Ounces

Image
I really enjoy the food served by the Vietnamese eatery 'Mrs Pho' , and I am glad that Baby brought me there during one of our random dinner dates!  Mrs Pho  was opened by Vietnamese nationals, and they promise a slice of Saigon when you enter the premises! There is no fusion food in the menu, as they offer only traditional Vietnamese food. We always order the  Fried Spring Roll (Cha Gio)  as our side dish. Each spring roll is stuffed with  juicy filling and is deep-fried to a perfect crisp.   I had  chicken Noodle (Pho Ga)  for myself, and the flat rice noodle was cooked to perfection. I love the broth too, and I always enhance the taste of the soup by squeezing lime and adding a dash of fish sauce that Vietnamese restaurants always provide.   The total damage was about SGD40 and this was inclusive of the 2 glasses of  Salty lemonade drink (Chanh Muai), 2 main courses and 2 side dishes . The service is friendly and e...

[random] Jess Baby's recent updates + giveaways

I have a soft spot for desserts, but I also wanted to make something healthy for myself! Check out my home made ‘Parfait’ which I made using Kellogg’s Super Berry Granola ! It’s tasty and nutritious, with 7 essential nutrients that are perfect for a healthy dessert! It consists of a Granola 5-grain cluster with nuts and seeds and still maintains its crunch, which I can say is much better than the other brands that have similar products in the market.  I always love Kellogg's Super Berry Granola as it completes my healthy journey towards a nutritious way of life. Does it look berry-licious? I picked up 2 boxes of Lakto Cheese Curd Bar  for my Nephew and Niece and the flavours were  ‘Belgian Chocolate Coating’ , as well as  ‘Belgian White Chocolate Coating with Raspberry-Pomegranate filling’ .  Wondering what snacks to give your children for tea? Why not try Lakto Cheese Curd Bar ! These yummy protein bars are bound to be a hit, at any time of the day. They are p...

How I spend my weekends?

Image
I love spending quality time with my Baby on weekends! Baby brought me to a coffee shop  which is located Geylang Lorong 17 to try out an eatery that serves Ipoh style Chee Chong Fun , which is served in a curry broth.   I had the Curry Chee Cheong Fun  is a staple dish in Ipoh that is served with pigskin and long beans in a curry broth!   Apart from the Curry Chee Cheong Fun, we also had  Yong Tau Foo in Hot Soup . We   picked and chose our food items at the stall display.   We also had the must-have food item which is known as ' Sak Kok Liew'  in Cantonese. The Turnip is  wrapped with dried shrimps and rolled into a circular shape with beancurd skin, and then deep-fried until it turns golden brown! I really enjoyed the crispiness of the exterior, as well as the firmness of the interior!   I was delighted to find this hidden gem in Geylang for  Yong Tau Foo and  Curry Chee Cheong Fun fix! I am back again to T...

[Food Review] Original Thai Taste at Kin Hoi

Image
Shellfish has been consumed all over the world for centuries, as they are rich in lean protein, healthy fats, and minerals. Shellfish are most nutritious when steamed or baked. A couple of weeks ago I met up with a couple of blogger friends for a food tasting session at Kin Hoi . Kin Hoi is located at Holland Close Coffee shop which houses awesome merchants such as Sin Kee Famous Chicken Rice and Pung Pung Kitchen which offers tasty cze char dishes! However, we were there for  Kin Hoi , which offers an Original Thai Taste that definitely warms your heart with their delicious food! They are known for their fresh, ready-to-eat shellfish! Kin Hoi  originally started as a seafood business online, which only till recently, the owner of Kin Hoi ventured to open a seafood stall at a coffee shop along Block 6 Holland Close . Besides operating physically at the food court, they also work closely with Foodpanda to deliver their seafood to their customers' homes. Although the stall ...
