[tasting session] Early Christmas Party at Cake Avenue
As we are stepping into the month of December, it can be only mean that Christmas is around the corner! I was delighted that I was invited to a festive tasting session at Cake Avenue, especially since Christmas is the time for showing sharing and caring to the people around us!
Cake
Avenue is a cake establishment which specializes in designing and creating 3D cakes for their customers to bring joy into their celebrations.
Recently,
Cake Avenue decided to broaden their bakery shop, and transformed themselves into a dine-in bistro. With the expansion, the eatery place can now accommodate up to 50 persons, and can hold any themed-party celebrations as well!
The
new Christmas menu includes savory dishes such as Braised Lamb Shank, Chicken Lasagne,
Roasted Vegetables and
Assorted Canapés (smoked salmon, tuna and egg mayo).
Certainly, one must not forget about the signature sweet treats from the aptly named Cake Avenue, in order to usher in the forth coming Christmas! Check out the awesome Reindeer Cake, Chocolate Fudge Yule Log Cake, Jelly Cups, Mini Fruit Tarts, Mini Chocolate Tarts and Macarons!
The place also has Entremets, and these include from a range of Mini Chocolate Yuki Log Cakes, Chocolate Caramel Reindeer and Christmas Apple Bauble Cakes! Each yummy dessert from the Entremets list cost SGD 5.90!
Do
note that Christmas 2017 Menu bookings start from 25th November till 25th
December 2017, and require a minimum of 3 days advance notice.

Apart
from the Christmas Menu, Cake Avenue also introduced their all-new Diner themed
Dessert menu. Check out the ingenious idea of presenting 6 creations that are designed to look like a savoury dinner that has Hamburgers, Corn Dogs, Nachos, and Alphabet soup!
It gives you a twist, as what you see is not what you get/taste!
The
'Diner Delights' feature Diners Sliders and fries (SGD15.90) whereby Vanilla Butter Cake was used as the buns of the burger, and dark chocolate ice-cream was used as the burger patty! This 'Burger' is topped off with raspberry 'ketchup' and passionfruit 'mustard'! The completed dish was served with crispy cake 'fries'.
Crispy
'Fries' with sauces (SGD8.90)
The 'Alphabet Soup' was actually a sweet confectionary cleverly made out to look like a bowl of the iconic canned soup! It reminded me of my childhood as I learnt the alphabet whenever I drank the soup! It is made of refreshing and creamy lychee
mousse with chunks of lychee and raspberry fruit.
The
Great Con Dog (SGD8.90) was my favorite among the diner themed dessert menu.
The Chef replaced the savory meat with warm sweet corn instead. It tasted perfect, and left me wanting for more!
The
Lava Pops (SGD8.90) looked like meatballs but in fact, they were actually warm red velvet cake with crunchy breadcrumbs on the outside! Be careful of the molten vanilla cheese filling inside!
I enjoyed biting into the crunchy breaded exterior, and as I warned earlier, be prepared for your mouth to be filled with hot molten vanilla cream cheese!
Nachos
Dulces (SGD12.90) is a twist on the famous Mexican snack! The crispy flatbread nachos were topped up with chocolate mousse 'refried beans',
strawberry compote 'salsa', julienned peach 'cheese' and pistachio ice cream
'guacamole'. It is definitely welcome as a sharing dish for gatherings as well!
Thanks
for having us at the early Christmas party, and I enjoyed myself very much
during the tasting session. We had a night of sweetness at Cake Avenue!
