Food Tasting at Copper Chimney

Copper Chimney is located at Syed Alwi Rd, Little India, and it serves authentic North Indian & 'Chindian' food. The place is halal certified, and is the perfect place for a hearty lunch or dinner! It satisfies the palates of both local and foreign diners, without losing the original essence and authenticity of the North Indian/Chindian cuisine the restaurant serves!

i knew that my Baby would be hounding me to get him in to the tasting session. The restaurant also just got a revamped look recently and has a new menu to boot!

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by the warm lights and the dining area was pretty roomy with long dining tables. The restaurant lives up to its name as the furnishings, such as the tiles, lamps and cups were all made out of copper! The restaurant bears a two-storey dining area, whereby the second level is a private area reserved for customers who wish to hold business meetings, corporate events, or private parties!

The Masala Roomali (SGD8) is a nice communal sharing dish to start off as a wonderful meal with family or friends.

I loved the thin bread, which was filled with onions, tomatoes, topped wth Masala seasoning and baked till crispy over an inverted oven. It provided an adequate level of taste and spiciness!

The Kurkure Bhindi (SGD5) is a perfect crispy snack for anyone who loves Lady Fingers. It was pretty addictive and is a great snack to go along with refreshing beverages, such as Mango Lassi and Mint Calamansi.

The Salmon Fish Masala (SGD18) is Copper Chimney’s custom made tandoori which is cooked to perfection.

For naan, we tried the Plain Naan (SGD4.50) and the Garlic Naan (SGD5). They all tasted well and(became even better after dipping them into the various curries! At the Copper Chimney, you can find unique food items such as the, you can find unique food items such as the Chili Cheese Naan (SGD6.50), and I personally recommend any Naan that you order to be paired with Dhal Curry for a scrumptious delight!

If you are looking for something savoury and less spicy, do try out their Lucknow Murg Korma (SGD16). Each butter chicken meat tasted flavourful. An alternative for consideration if you live for spicy food is to try the Chicken Lababdar (SGD15). It blends the perfect balance of taste with just the right amount of spice! My personal favorite during the tasting was the Madras Prawn Curry (SGD17). The light and fragrant gravy was accompanied by a slight hint of sweetness from the prawns and is best eaten with fragrant basmati rice.

Feast on the Sultani Seekh Rice Platter (SGD29) for an ultimate briyani experience. This platter is great for sharing, and we had a good time tucking into this mouth-watering dish, which was made of premium basmati rice cooked to perfection, as well as accompanying sides of succulent lamb and chicken kebabs!

The Triple Szechwan Rice (SGD15) is an iconic Mumbai street food delight where fried rice, hakka noodles, and spicy gravy come together, and it is the perfect comfort food fix.

We completed our gastronomic tasting experience at Copper Chimney with mouth-watering desserts. We had the Jalebi with Rabdi (SGD8) - a freshly made deep-fried crunchy snack filled with rich syrup that oozes out with every bite.

We also indulged in the Pista Rasmalai (SGD7.50) - a traditional dessert that is creamy and sweet on the palate. It was made of Paneer (Indian cottage cheese) soaked in sweetened milk with lots of crushed pistachios.

We ended our tasting session by having a traditional indian beverage, Masala tea. Both Baby and I enjoyed every single sip of this Indian tea. It has many health benefits as it helps in digestion and relieves one's bloated stomach after a heavy meal!

We had an enjoyable time during the tasting session and thanks for having us!
