Sedap Thai - Halal Thai-style BBQ steamboat + The Dragon Chamber
Looking for a halal Thai-style BBQ steamboat? Then you should visit Sedap Thai! It offers affordable Thai Steamboat. They use beef fat instead of lard as a base for its Thai BBQ steamboat.
We opted for an All-you-can-eat buffet that cost SGD22 per pax, and you can order anything on the menu except from the seafood category, which will be charged separately. It is definitely worth it as we can dine on unlimited serving of meats and other ingredients.
There are two soup options for the steamboat section - chicken broth and tom yum soup. We chose the tom yum base. If you are someone who can’t handle spicy food well, I think their tom yum soup is pretty manageable. The tangy, savory broth enhanced the overall taste. What’s more, you’ll get free-flow soup here.
The two types of dipping sauces are worth mentioning. The red chilli paste had a stronger taste and coated the meat easily. The other sauce was tangy and less spicy.
It is definitely a rare find for halal-certified Thai Steamboat. Sedap Thai is a perfect place for big groups.

I was introduced by one of my ex-colleagues to visit The Dragon Chamber, and imho, it is one of the more interesting places for dining. It is located at Circular Road facing the main road, and do note that it is quite easy to miss the restaurant as there is no big signboard.
Upon entering the eatery place, it looks like a modernised and decent coffee-shop, which was actually the waiting area. There is only 1 service staff there to welcome walk-in and reservations guests. Once our table is ready, we entered the main dining hall behind the beer fridge.
Once we entered in from the secret door, we were led to a short corridor before entering the chamber. The main restaurant is pretty spacious with strong vibes of 70s high society in Shanghai China.
We also ordered the XO Crab Fried Rice which was quite perfectly done. The XO sauce gave the fried rice a nice umami flavor.
The Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun is not our usual hor fun. The initial bowl of hor fun comes with some deep-fried crispy crisps, premium wagyu short rib and poached egg. The finishing touch was when the service staff poured the truffle gravy and mixed all the ingredients together right in front of our eyes.
