[13D10N - Incentive Trip: Spain & Portugal] 2D1N at Granada
We left our Valencià after a night's stay. We woke up super early to have our breakfast at the hotel before checking out.
After a super long bus ride, we finally reached our hotel - Leonardo Hotel Granada. This hotel is located at the City Centre. Our room looked pretty decent, but most importantly, it was clean and spacious.
The tour in Granada started once we dropped our luggage off in our room, and we met up at the lobby to board the tour bus to visit Alhambra Palace.
One of the most stunning feats of architecture in the world, Granada’s famous Alhambra is not only a beautiful place, but a window into Spain’s distant past.
I love the uniquely Islamic architecture of the multiple palaces and beautiful gardens. Every detail was breathtaking: the stonework carved into the most beautiful patterns and even the heavy wooden towers carved with beautiful Islamic-style details. It’s hard to believe you’re actually in Spain and not in a Moroccan palace!
This visit experience to Alhambra left me with a lasting impression. It is one of the best-preserved palace complexes from the historic Islamic world.
The buildings of the Alhambra are majestic as well as beautifully preserved. One of the best spots to get an amazing view.
This walkway through the gardens led us to Alhambra’s exit! I personally feel that visiting Alhambra is a must-see attraction if you plan on visiting the southern part of Spain! All thanks to this fully guided tour package, I was glad to have had this opportunity to step foot into one of the most-visited attraction in Spain.
After the tour of the palace, we went to our next destination where we had a 3-course Mediterranean dinner with a Flamenco Show! The venue was nestled in the heart of Granada’s Albaicin neighborhood, and in order to reach Templo del Flamenco, we needed to climb up some uneven cobbled steps.
We enjoyed the enchanting world of flamenco within the unique setting of a cave restaurant. My first impression of the Templo del Flamenco was that it looked like a typical gypsy cave.
Usually, most people's focus would be on the show rather than the food when it comes to Flamenco tablaos. Food quality can be mediocre but for me, my attention focused on both the food and the flamenco show!
Flamenco is deeply rooted in Spanish history, and is a passionate and expressive art that encompasses various dance techniques.
Both Baby and I had an unforgettable yet vibrant experience at the Granada's Flamenco Show at Templo Del Flamenco! This place is a recommended stop for anyone wanting to see real Flamenco dancing!
We spotted a large sculpture of the head of 'Christopher Columbus' in the middle of the City Square. He was the key person to the Spanish exploration, and he discovered America.
Before checking out, we took a photo of the morning view from our room!
Stay tuned for my next blogpost, as we left Granada and travelled to another city of Spain - Seville, on which we also made a stop to Córdoba for a day trip before Seville.
