[makan in Singapore] Ceylonese Crabs + Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore + Hey Kee Restaurant

Image
On a nice Saturday afternoon, I met up my girlfriends for lunch, as recently, I was introduced to Ceylonese Crabs - a Sri Lankan restaurant offering an array of authentic Ceylonese dishes. It is located at the Seafood Centre of East Coast Park Singapore , and it aims to cater the Sri Lankan palate in a foreign land. We started off our meal with their Welcome Juice , and it went well with our Ceylonese Bite order - Batter Fried Onion Rings . I loved their Sri Lankan Egg Fried Rice , and I loved that they used Basmati Rice and some Sri Lankan spices in the dish. We also ordered the famous Sri Lankan Street Food - Roast Chicken Cheese Koththu, and it tasted pretty delicious. We ordered the Grilled Herby Jumbo Sri Lankan Prawns served with Saffron Rice and Cavier Butter Dip . The prawns were very meaty, juicy and nicely grilled to perfection. The shells did not stick to the meat and was easily removed. It was served with a side of vegetables and a small portion of Saffron rice. Don’t fo...

[food Review] Biryani Concepts + Wok Master

Image
Fancy having a sumptuous fish head curry? Head on down to Biryani Concepts , which is located at Siglap for some tremendous Indian cuisine, especially for the Fish Head Curry ! The fish meat was fresh and the portions were sufficient for two while the curry was aromatic and tangy, just the way I like it! The Hyderabad Chicken Dhum Biryani had fluffy rice and tasted delicious, while the Garlic Naan was crispy and not too oily. Even the Masala Tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. I highly recommend this eatery if you’re in the area and are keen for some Indian food! Wok Master serves up an array of claypot and wok-fried dishes in the comfort of a casual restaurant setting. The eatery is situated on the second level of City Square Mall , which is conveniently connected to Farrer Park MRT Station . The dinner crowd was pretty healthy when we visited. Together with Tracy, we had a pleasurable dinner! The 3-Cup Chicken - the brown gravy went very well with a bowl of white rice, and it...

Meal for 2 at Shao + Kota88 Restaurant + TamJai SamGor

Image
September is Baby’s birthday month, so I booked a table for us for dinner at 'Shao' , a Teochew Seafood Restaurant which is located at the Frankel Avenue.   Ever since the first visit to ' Shao' , I have been in love with their version of the Wok Fried Hor Fun, as every piece of thick Hor Fun (flat rice noodle) was coated in fragrant oil and aroma garlic and radish bits. I like the ‘wok hei’ quality in every mouthful we took! Fried Salted Egg Yam Luffa with Scallops and Superior Broth   I added the Fried Prawn Roll as it is a MUST-ORDER item for me. It tasted delicious and it was priced at SGD8 for 4PCS.   The damage was SGD65-ish. In summary, we had a sharing plate of Hor Fun, Luffa with Scallops, Fried Prawn Roll, Fried Salted Egg Yam, and a bowl of white rice.  Nevertheless, we will be coming back again to try other dishes despite the pricey damage, as the quality of the food is top notch! Kota88 Restaurant is a laid-back restaurant along East Coast...
