Baby's Birthday Celebration at Paradise Teochew + Jumbo Seafood Restaurant

Image
I recently had a dinner date with my Baby at Paradise Teochew which is located at Level 3 of Takashimaya . The restaurant offers authentic Teochew-style classic dishes. Upon entering the premises, we were led to our seats and started off our meal with some appetizers and complimentary Glutinous Tea. We loved the Steamed Bamboo Clam with Garlic and I simply couldn't stop eating once I started on my first serving! I really enjoyed the Wok-fried ‘Hor Fun’ with Kai Lan and Preserved Turnip , as it had a boost of wok hei . I especially loved the preserved turnips which added a salty crunch to the soft flat rice noodles (hor fun). We also had Teochew styled Pan-fried and Stewed Tofu . The Tofu cubes were laid on a bed of vermicelli in a light savory sauce. Baby and I are fans of bean curd and vermicelli, and we enjoyed it extremely! If you are a fan of such delights, then this will definitely hit the mark for you! The generous amount of vermicelli under the bean curd soaked up the sa...

Dinner at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant + Tipo Pasta Bar + Pancake & Waffle

Image
We decided to have a crab feast for dinner at Jumbo Seafood Restaurant which is located at East Coast Park to end Baby’s birthday. We started off with a plate of yummy Satay, delicious clams (lala) and a bowl of dropped egg corn soup. Of course, the main dish was  Jumbo's Signature Chilli Crab , and we ordered some Fried Mantou  to go along with the delicious gravy. We had a delightful dinner, and Jumbo Seafood  is the perfect place for you if you have high expectations for fresh seafood! The damage was pleasant after a reduction of SGD100 (We has a Jumbo birthday voucher!) Recently, I brought Chewy and Rena to Tipo Pasta Bar which is located at Aliwal Street for dinner.  As we were led to our table, I was greeted by this cool setup of the day's pasta choices. They had these fancy names like   Mafalde, Fusilli  and  Campanelle . Their pastas are freshly made daily and infused with different ingredients, so that means that there will be dif...

Dinner at A Beautiful Day Café Tea Room + Chloe & Robin Wedding celebration

Image
It has been a while since our last meet up which was early this year where we met up with one another during the CNY period. Ivy arranged for a gathering session with me, S, R and E at the Café Kreams , which is located within Maxwell Chambers, and this Autumn Themed Café is not to be missed! We were immediately drawn into the café's entire ceiling, as it was bedecked in autumnal shades of red, orange, yellow and brown, which made me feel like I had been transported to the fall season. The strategically placed tree trunks around the space also added to the aesthetic vibe. This autumnal experience was truly one-of-a-kind, and I felt that it would be a great place for a gathering with friends or to go on a couple date. Thanks for the company, as I enjoyed myself very much! We talked and shared about everything under the sun for a good 4 hours during our meet up! Let's have more outings and gatherings soon! My niece, Chloe has settled down with her Mexican boyfriend, Robin, and t...

[makan in Singapore] Ceylonese Crabs + Pasta Fresca Da Salvatore + Hey Kee Restaurant

Image
On a nice Saturday afternoon, I met up my girlfriends for lunch, as recently, I was introduced to Ceylonese Crabs - a Sri Lankan restaurant offering an array of authentic Ceylonese dishes. It is located at the Seafood Centre of East Coast Park Singapore , and it aims to cater the Sri Lankan palate in a foreign land. We started off our meal with their Welcome Juice , and it went well with our Ceylonese Bite order - Batter Fried Onion Rings . I loved their Sri Lankan Egg Fried Rice , and I loved that they used Basmati Rice and some Sri Lankan spices in the dish. We also ordered the famous Sri Lankan Street Food - Roast Chicken Cheese Koththu, and it tasted pretty delicious. We ordered the Grilled Herby Jumbo Sri Lankan Prawns served with Saffron Rice and Cavier Butter Dip . The prawns were very meaty, juicy and nicely grilled to perfection. The shells did not stick to the meat and was easily removed. It was served with a side of vegetables and a small portion of Saffron rice. Don’t fo...
