Both S and I headed down to CONNOR'S SHAKE EXPRESS EXPERIENCE pop-up which is located along the stretch of Orchard Road (outside Mandarin Gallery). All guests were entitled to a complimentary can of Connor’s iconic stout. While shaking beer cans are usually a bad idea, as it will cause a huge mess! However, Connor's Stout drinks are different from other canned beers, as it is highly recommended you shake it without having to worry that it will explode like a usual canned beverage! By shaking it, you can fully enjoy the perfect balanced taste of Connor's, and the creamy foam has a distinct coffee aroma! We were also given a pack of savoury pretzels to go with our stout drink! Both Baby and I went to Guan Hoe Soon to have our Peranakan fix on a random 'Fridate'. It is located at Joo Chiat - one of Singapore's first heritage shophouse areas. It   has a long history and is considered Singapore's oldest Peranakan Restaurant since 1953.  The appetizer gave us a great start and it was really quite special. Initially, Baby thought it was achar, but when we brought the food closer to us, we realized that it was actually chicken gizzard, cucumber, and pineapple topped with shaved cuttlefish in a sweet and sour yet spicy sambal taste. We ordered the Otak Otak and it tasted pretty normal,  nothing to shout about! We enjoyed the Nyonya Chap Chye very much. It's one of the good ones among other places we've tried before. Meryl and I met up at CHIJMES to continue our café-hopping session.  We decided to settle our afternoon tea at  Hvala . I love the cool interior of Hvala's concept, as part of the café features a tatami concept,  which made me feel as if I was in Japan again! Hvala is pretty much very crowded every day, and reservations are not   allowed. We went around 3+ on a weekday, and we were so lucky to get a table with merely a 10-minute wait! We were lead to the tatami area for our dine-in indulgence. We ordered the Kinako Warabi Mochi with Japanese Black Sugar, and it was the perfect dessert for mochi lovers. I love the softness of the mochi, and the black sugar made everything sweeter, but not overly sweet. We love this light dessert! Hvala  also offers high quality tea leaves, so we went for their hot brew! Poppy recently arranged an early Christmas gathering with me and Meryl, and it was a great catch up! Just like last year, we went to  PS Café   again, but this time, we were at the   Raffles City’s outlet. We had a really fabulous time hanging out, especially since our last meet up was way before the CB period. I am looking forward for our next meet up!  Thanks girls for the lovely gifts! Baby fell in love with the mains which are served at Hoshino Coffee , so we went there again for dinner, but this time we visited the outlet in Suntec City i nstead.  He had his favorite  Hoshino Coffee's Pot-Baked Curry Rice , as he loves the baked Japanese cheesy curry rice which was served with generous chunks of sausages, broccoli and a semi-molten egg.  I ordered the Curry Rice with Fluffy Omelette , and it tasted awesomely good!
