Baby booked a table for us at il Cielo to celebrate our Valentine’s Day, and it is located on the rooftop floor of the 24-storey Voco Orchard Singapore , with stunning views of the city skyline. To me, il Cielo is quite underrated as an Italian restaurant but it was surprisingly a good Italian restaurant in the heart of Orchard Road. I must confess that we didn’t know the existence of this restaurant until Baby made the reservation. They offered a 2-course Valentine’s Day dinner set at SGD68++ per pax, but we decided to go for an ala carte choice instead. When we entered, we were led to our tables. The service was good but I felt it could certainly be better, especially on the welcoming and ushering to our seats. A complimentary Bread Basket was served shortly after being seated. Baby booked a table for us at the Brasserie Gavroche to celebrate our Valentine’s Day , as he been there once previously with his colleagues and clients. He raved so much about its French authenticity and quality. When we entered, we were led to our tables very promptly. For the service it was excellent!  Brasserie Gavroche bears a perfect Parisian ambience. Almost everything in the eatery place is imported from France. The half dozen Fresh Oysters were so good!  We shared the French Onion Soup , but unfortunately, their version was kinda disappointing. I've had better elsewhere! The soup was lacking in flavors to me! All eyes were focused on this luxurious homemade flaky puff pastry containing succulent mouthwatering seafood.   We loved our mains very much, and we are glad that the mains made up for soup.  We ended our meal with their complimentary in-house Madeleines . Overall, there were hits and misses, but we do agree that the quality of the food served...

As we grow older, we find that Valentine’s Day is not only about showing your affection or love to your loved ones, but is also for spending quality time with your loved ones and renewing your commitment, responsibility and the efforts you put into this relationship or marriage.. Baby made a reservation for us to a posh restaurant to celebrate our Valentine’s Day at Akira Back which is located at J W Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach . We had a wonderful Omakase experience. Apart from the Omakase dinner set, we also ordered their signature Tuna Pizza , and I loved the very crispy crust which was topped with thinly sliced tuna, and flavoured with truffle oil. It was an addictive pizza, and it’s impossible to stop at one slice. The damage was pretty hefty for the portion, oh well I think the quality of the food made up for it!
