STGCC 2012 @ Sands Expo and Convention Centre
This year, I attended the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC). This annual event was held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands on the 1-2 September 2012.
The STGCC is a pre-eminent event in Asian market that combines the best pop culture from East and West to Asia, and unites the world of comics, amine, toys, collectibles and games. There were LIVE Sketching and autographs with Internationally-renowned Artists, Comics Illustrators, Writers and Toy Designers.
I was greeted by 'Gundam', the moment I stepped in the premises... He looked magnificent.
I was impressed by the Avengers figurines display and was pleasantly surprised!!
The figures were very realistic and the craftsmanship was pretty skilful and they look detailed.
This was definitely another highpoint at this year's STGCC, Dark Knight for DC Comics and the entire comic heroes.
Below were some of my favorite new releases at the exhibition...
~ Hand Painting Tee by Pocotee ~
This is the artist, in the flesh and she was there to do free-hand drawing/painting with any purchases from the booth.
Being the first 50 fans to arrive at the booth (Pocotee & Friends), I was given 2 postcards and a sticker.
~ Wendy Chew, Local Chibi (Short & Cute) Art Illustrator ~
Wendy Chew is well-known for her cutesy art styles, and she has attended many events such as Seattle’s Emerald City Comic Convention and Malaysia Games and Comics Convention to showcase her work. Her sketch book was launched exclusively at STGCC 2012.
~ BONJAPAN – Rilakkuma and Sentimental Circus ~
~ Play Imaginative - Spongebob Squarepants Mini Figure World ~
I love the wacky figure, Spongebob Squarepants and I was attracted to Bedtime Spongebob.
Nanoblock X Sanrio - My favorite Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, Pom Pom Purin, My Melody, Little Twin Stars and Charming Kitty have been immortalized as a Nanoblock.
Nanoblock X Universal Studio Japan - Classic Sesame Street characters such as Big Bird, Elmo and Cookie Monster are Nanoblock favorites and they are exclusively available at Universal Studio Japan.
This year, we got to see over 100 exclusive collectibles and new products launch as they were released at the STGCC 2012. It was definitely a rare opportunity to get our collections personally autographed by the creators or designers. This yearly convention has never failed to bring the latest information on toys, games, comics, anime, manga and cosplay to their avid fans across the Southeast Asia.
