Early CNY Reunion dinner at Asia Grand Restaurant + Hong Kong StreetFamily Restaurant + VivoCity, Kim Gary HK Restaurant

Our relatives from KL came down to Singapore and we had an early CNY reunion dinner at Asia Grand Restaurant. Although this was my first time there, I had read many rave reviews before on this eatery place. Many of them recommended their Dim Sum selection and Peking Duck.

 

捞鱼生 is essential during or approaching the CNY period, as we Chinese believe that tossing of Yu Sheng will bring good luck for the coming New Year.
 
I was glad that the CNY menu set included the Peking Duck, and true enough, it was the star dish of the restaurant! I personally felt that it was probably one of the better, if not the best Peking Duck in Singapore.

 
The Fresh Prawn with Broccoli tasted good.

 
Drunken Chicken was pretty good too!

 
Steamed Fish with Fragrance Ginger
 
 
Glutinous Rice with Chinese Sausages tasted superb.   


 
We ended our dinner on a sweet note. We had 'Nian Gao' and ‘Tang Yuan’ in Red Bean Soup.
 
 
It was a delightful dinner, and the overall experience compensated for the hefty damage.


 
We had another round of dinner with our relatives as they were catching the coach back to KL. We settled for a meal at Hong Kong Street Family Restaurant which is located at Novena Gardens. The meal was pretty decent and the prices were on the high side as compared to the food they served. It is definitely not worth paying the damage for their food. 
 
Sadly to say, I only enjoyed one dish, and that was the Hot-Plate Venison with Spring Onion and Ginger.

 
Thanks Sweetie for the gifts she got for me during her Taiwan trip. I love the off-shoulder top very much. This was one of the items in her TWN goodies gift bag!


 
I end my post with my usual dinner place with Baby. I frequently visit VivoCity, Kim Gary HK Restaurant, as they offer a wide selection of of inexpensive set meals. Most importantly, I can utilize my member perks and discounts!
