‘Picnic by the Bay’ by En Community Services Society

‘Picnic by the Bay’ is a fundraiser organized for the very first time by En Community Services Society, which was held at the Supertree Grove Lawn in Gardens by the Bay.

The core value of this event is to encourage family bonding with the senior members in a family and to showcase their talents and vibrant, active ageing lifestyles. This event was also held on the same day as the Mid-Autumn Festival, and it was a great outing for families to have fun and joy together.

Tracy and I attended this morning event, whereby we were given a picnic mat. We enjoyed the stage performances while sitting on the mat!

The event kicked off with a mass exercise in the morning, followed by other stage performances include choir and dance performances by school children and volunteer performers.

The public attendance turn out was pretty good, and there were nearly 200 seniors who have picked up musical instruments during their silver years. In fact, many of them only started taking online lessons over the last two years and they performed together for the first time on such a large scale. There was a Singapore Book of Records representative present to adjudicate and document the gathering of the 200 senior ukulele performers! I am glad to have witnessed this momentous event!

Before we left the garden, we took some random photos against the beautiful Mid-Autumn Festival decorations.

Lastly, thanks for having us at the event!
