[Fall Italy Vacation] Day 04 : Goodbye Milan ; Hello Florence + Galleria degli Uffizi + Piazza della Signoria

We left our Milan apartment after staying there for 3 nights. We woke up early to get our breakfast fix from Carrefour which is literally located below our apartment.

We packed our luggage and headed down to Milano Centrale to take the train to Florence (in Italian, Firenze). It was a about a 2-hour journey from Milan. We bought a sandwich to share during our train ride!

Upon reaching Florence, we checked in to our hotel - Glance Hotel which is a 4-star hotel located pretty near to the train station. Most of the tourist attractions were within walking distance from the hotel. In short, it is located within the heart of Florence.

I love the bathroom amenities from Rituals, and there was a swimming pool located at the top level of the hotel!

The day market is located directly opposite our hotel, and the market sold mainly leather goods, scarves and miscellaneous souvenirs.

Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and a true paradise for art and architecture lovers. It is the capital of the famous Tuscany region, and it is also one of the best places to visit in Italy.

The Fountain of Neptune is a monumental civic fountain located in the eponymous square, Piazza del Nettuno.

We went to Piazza della Signoria, a square that also houses dozens of sculptures, and took many photos against them!

We spent 3 days in Florence, and we started off with the Uffizi Gallery. We purchased our tickets online prior to our departure from Singapore. It is not only one of the most popular attractions in Florence but also one of the most visited art museums in the world!

The Galleria degli Uffizi is the most important art museum in the country!!

On our first evening in Florence, we settled ourselves at the Osteria Del Gatto e la Volpe which is located a few blocks within the most historical alley from the Duomo. Not the Duomo in Milan, but another Duomo in Florence. A Duomo is a cathedral!

We got our usual favorite cocktail, the Aperol Spritz for our meal. Sipping it while eating some home made bread dipped in olive oil & balsamic vinegar is great! I really loved their in-house freshly baked bread which tasted amazing!

Florence’s incredible pappardelle with Wild Boar Ragu is a must try!

Our highlight of our dinner was the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina, a giant slab of wagyu beef cooked over a wood-fired grill.

The famous Florentine Steak was the highlight in which most tourists are looking for. If you're looking for authentic Tuscan food in a casual and intimate atmosphere, then Osteria Del Gatto e la Volpe is the perfect place for you! The variety of traditional food was impressive. A good-to-go place if you want to try a little bit of everything!!
