[California Dream] Day 07/08 : Disney California Adventure Park + Home Sweet Home

Visiting Disneyland parks all over the world is one of my biggest goals, and thankfully this year, I can finally cross out the Walt Disney World Orlando and Shanghai Disneyland Park. During this trip with the boy, I decided to visit Disney California Adventure Park, as I had only been to the ‘original' Disneyland Park California in Anaheim, CA. 

We purchased our tickets via Klook, where luckily there was a small promotion for discounted tickets. However the discounted tickets only allowed for one park admission, hence we chose Disney California Adventure Park.

Baby drove us to the theme park which is located at the outskirts of LA, and it took us about an hour's drive from Hollywood to arrive.

We arrived at the theme park about 15mins before the park opened, but to our horror we were greeted with massive crowds and long queues outside the entrance. It was quite staggering on the amount of guests!

Disney was presently celebrating their 70th-anniversary, and we were lucky to be part of their celebration when we were there!

Disney California Adventure is a theme park by Disney right across the entrance from the main Disneyland theme park. It is also a newer park that celebrates the history and culture of the state with themed worlds like Cars Land, Paradise Pier, and Hollywood Land. The rides offered at the park are more adult and thrill orientated as compared to those at the main Disneyland park. 

First thing on our ride list - Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! 

It was used to be the high trill elevator ride named The 'Twilight Zone Tower of Terror'., but has now been reworked with Marvel branding. The format is still the same whereby the experience is still a multiple free fall/drop elevator-style drop ride, which is not for the faint of heart! 

Monsters, Inc - Mike & Sulley to the rescue! is a charming dark ride. This ride is definitely meant for young children. It was first opened in 2006, and has been announced to be permanent closed by 2027 to  make way for a new attraction. 

Next up, the Avengers Campus for Web Slingers: A Spider Man Adventure. 

This 3D dark ride is interactive and allows you to sling webs with your arms.

We settled ourselves at one of the self-service restaurants in the park for lunch.

The giant pretzel shook us! 

Radiator Springs Racers is one of the most popular rides at California Adventure which is located within Cars Land. 

The Radiator Springs Racers is an outdoor car race through an impressive red-rock desert landscape with characters from the movie Cars.

I felt that Cars Land was a great experience, and it was one of the better themed lands within Disney. The Radiator Springs Racers Ride was especially good, and was one of my favourite rides during the visit.

The Pixar Pier area with the giant Mickey Ferris Wheel is impressive in scale and grandeur.

We also rode several carnival-type rides such as Silly Symphony Swings and Golden Zephyr.

The World of Color - Happiness! brings Pixar Pier to life at night.

The World of Color - Happiness! is a spectacular night time show at California Adventure. It is a captivating story told through music, water, and laser special effects and features clips from Disney and Pixar movies.

I loved this dazzling night time show of pure Disney magic which ended our day at the Disney California Adventure Park.

Although the park had a long opening hours, but some rides closed earlier than the park itself. Thus, there was 1 more ride which we wanted to try but could not. Unfortunately there was just way too many people so it made it quite difficulty to try every ride within the park. To us, California Adventure Park is 100% worth visiting on your trip to California. 

We ended our day with a comfort supper meal at Korean Town (off Hollywood area) 

Baby woke up at early to prepare pasta for our brekkie, as our return flight back to Singapore was scheduled at night, so we did some last-minute shopping in the day. 

Before leaving to the car rental from our Airbnb, we decided to stop by for our late lunch at Starbird which located at the Hollywood area. 

We loved the burgers very much, and the servers were friendly too! If you are looking for a local place to get a filling yet delicious burger, then Starbird Chicken is the place for you.

Upon returning the car, the rental company had a shuttle service available to bring us back to the airport. The service provided by the car rental was efficient!

I have come to the last and final post of my latest United States holiday. Thanks so much for reading up on my experiences during my California trip. Time really flies, as it has been almost 3 months since I returned from LA, but I still find myself missing it very much. Till we meet again, USA!
