Dinner at Let’s Kinn THAI and Shao Teochew Seafood Restuarant + 6KM walkathon by Sunnystep + Lovely pastries by Konditori Artisan Bakes
The rise of the price for airfare tickets to Bangkok is getting out of control! I'm not joking, as I've been trying to plan a trip but each round trip ticket costs at least SGD 500 for each passenger! However, if you miss Thailand and especially the food, do give 'KINN THAI' a try! This eatery is located at Tanjong Pagar Plaza.
Recently, I was introduced to Konditori Artisan Bakes from one of my colleagues, so I made a trip down to check it out. It is located along Bussorah Street, and it is located in the heart of the historic Kampong Glam district. This quaint bakery has no seating area, and all our purchases are meant for take-aways. Do note that long line is expected.
When I pushed the door, I was greeted with the heavenly smell of freshly baked, buttery pastries.
Konditori Artisan Bakes’s plain Butter Croissant tasted perfect. I love how the croissant was flaky and buttery. It was slightly sweet, with a hint of saltiness to balance the palate.
If you are a fan of baked goods and pastries, then Konditori Artisan Bakes is your-must visit destination!
Together with the Lee Family as well as Meryl and her beau, we joined the Sunnystep Community for a 6KM walkathon from VivoCity - Sentosa Siloso Beach.
I was introduced to Marvis Toothpastes via YouTube, whereby 1st class airlines and luxurious hotels offer them to their elite passengers and guests. Marvis is a superior dental brand beloved in Italy for generations, and it leaves a long-lasting, pleasurable taste sensation in the mouth.
While at orchard on a random weekend, there was a Shopping Fair by Takashimaya going on, so we went over to take a look to see if we could get some good deals. The moment I saw these toothpastes, I knew I had to try them out as they received many rave reviews!
There is one line to describe Marvis: Once you go big, you never go back!
An impromptu Saturday dinner brought us to 'Shao', a Teochew Seafood Restaurant which is located at the Frankel Avenue.
The Wok Fried Hor Fun is my favorite food item in any Teochew Restaurant. While it might sound or look simple, the key ingredient of Chye Poh (Preserved Radish) made the dish absolutely delicious! In fact, , it is a challenging dish, as a good one should contain a good amount of Chye Poh (preserved radish), since it’s the essence of the dish. Not to forget the ‘wok hei’ quality too!
I love Shao's version of this hor fun, as every piece of thick Hor Fun (flat rice noodle) was coated in fragrant oil and aroma garlic and radish bits. I could taste the fiery ‘wok hei’ in every mouthful.
Beef Ball Soup in Teochew Style
We waited almost 20-minutes for
the Signature Pan Fried Prawn Pancake as it was freshly prepared upon ordering.
IMHO, it did taste pretty delicious but I still feel that paying SGD28 for it
doesn’t seem worth it due to its portion.
We ended our dinner with the Signature Teochew dessert - Orh Nee. The yam paste was smooth and not overly sweet – just the right way that we like!
Our meal did come with a price tag, and the damage was SGD84-ish. In summary, we had a sharing plate of hor fun, prawn pancake, a bowl of white rice and soup, as well as 2 drinks and 2 desserts. Nevertheless, we will be coming back again to try other dishes despite the pricey damage, as the quality of the food is top notch!
