'Our Japan Wedding' event at CHIJMES + Product view of Anessa Day Serum Sunscreen

I was selected to visit the ‘Our Japan Wedding’ which was organized by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO). The event was held at the Alcove at Caldwell House, CHIJMES.

During the event, we were given information about self-drive tours to various countryside areas in Japan, and they also shared most wedding photo-shoots which were taken in Okinawa. I haven’t been to Okinawa, and I will definitely plan a trip there once Japan removes its travel restrictions for foreign travelers.

Shisa is a traditional Ryukyuan cultural artifact and decoration derived from Chinese guardian lions, often seen in similar pairs from Okinawan mythology. They are found everywhere in Okinawa, as they are believed to ward off evil spirits.

The Shisa symbolizes Okinawa, and we were treated to a unique Okinawan experience during the event. We were given a pair of clay Shisa figures to bring out the creative mind in us by having a painting session! Each couple at the table were given paint tubes, a color palette and brushes. We decided  the colors that would suit our personal style and overall creative vision.

After the painting, we were allowed to bring our Shisa to leave them at a drying area, while we went over to a catering area for some canapes and refreshments, which tasted delicious!

We had an enjoyable time painting our adorable ceramic Shisa, and we were happy to bring them back home after they were dried. I was glad that this fun-loving  activity was added as part of the program outlines.

We also bagged home with us some Japanese goodies in these cute tote bags, and all these items came in a pair. Thanks so much for the invite and lovely gifts, especially the crockery from SAIKAI.

I am happy that I was being selected to receive the Beauty Sampling Box from TheBeauClub which featured the popular sunscreen brand – Anessa Day Serum Sunscreen.

I am well protected by the Anessa Day Serum Sunscreen when I am in the water for a swim, as it provides maximum benefits when in contact with water or sweat, but its resistance to friction increases as well! It contains skincare formulas to ensure that the skin is moisturized and nourished while getting UV protection. Most importantly, it is light-weight and non-sticky/greasy.

The Anessa Day Serum Sunscreen can also be used as a makeup base that brightens up the skin. What I love most is that it helps to even out my skin tone, leaving a smooth and luminous finish. Lastly, thanks TheBeauClub for sending over the Beauty Sampling Box!

My random lunch with my office lunch mates at one of the eatery places around Kampong Glam. We went for their lunch sets and shared a plate of 'Ter Kah' Bee Hoon (Zhu Jiao Mee Fen/aka Pork Trotter Bee Hoon.)

The vermicelli had a strong and intense 'wok hei' aroma. It is definitely worth a try and i highly recommend it very much! I give this dish two thumbs up as there is nothing I disliked about this dish! Nothing beats having a nice meal and a great chat with my lunch kakis!

We will try to cook on weekends, as we normally spend our weekdays dining out. Both of us enjoy having home cooked meals! I picked up some Fusilli Pasta from Scoop, and we bought some Japanese Black Pepper Sausages from Fairprice as well as a packet of Aglio Olio Pasta Sauce and a packet of Shredded Roasted Seaweed from Daiso. I was glad that the pasta dish turned up pretty good, and we will have more of this often in the near future!
