CNY Gathering at Tang Xiang Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat + Birthday celebration at Sumida

Baby and I spent our Sun-date lunch at Tampopo which is located at Takashimaya Shopping Centre. This eatery place is well-known for their Kuro Buta Ramen.


We ordered both of them as our mains, and we also shared yummy Wagyu Beef Croquette and Yaki Ika as sides to go along with our mains!

The seven of us had a weekday after-work dinner date at the Sumida下町酒場スミダ, which is located at Suntec City to celebrate Jane’s birthday! 




We had a delightful meal together. Crazy as usual!

It has been quite a while since we last met up with one another. Ivy arranged for a gathering session with me, S, R, E and E at the Tang Xiang Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat, which is located at 5 Kallang Food Centre. The place serves Signature Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat and an array of zichar dishes.


It was still the CNY period when we met up, and naturally our meal started with Fai Cai Yu Sheng for our ‘Lo Hei’ Celebration.

A must-try here is their Signature Charcoal Fish Head Steamboat which comes with Red Grouper. Each steamboat comes with fried fish head, round cabbage, yam, tofu, seaweed, tomato and a separate plate of fish slices. The robust broth is refillable too!

Unlike the usual yam ring, the Seafood XO Yam Ring was served in black, as it was infused with charcoal powder and comes with seafood instead of the usual chicken and vegetable. It is an elevated version of the traditional yam ring!

Thanks for the company, as I enjoyed myself very much! We talked and shared about everything under the sun for a good 4 hours during our meet up! Let's have more outings and gatherings soon!
