Dinner Gathering at Hey Kee Restaurant + Wedding Anniversary Celebration at Acqua e Farina Restaurant

Hey Kee Restaurant is a newly opened eatery in the east, near Geylang. Therefore we decided to have our early reunion with my usual ‘Lucky 7’ clique!

The dining ambience is akin to Hong Kong’s famed 大牌 (dà pái dàng) experience with a vintage HK interior design. 大牌 (dà pái dàng) means ‘big licence stall’ in Cantonese where these open-air food stalls used to dot the streets and alleys of Hong Kong. Hey Kee’s menu ensures that they offer a wide variety of dishes on the menu at relatively wallet-friendly prices as to maintain the legacy of 'Dai Pai Dongs'

There were a few photo spots at the eatery, such as a HK retro old-fashioned barber shop that had a spread of hair-styling/make up brushes as props, and a HK retro bus stop!


My meal started with 'Fai Cai Yu Sheng' for our ‘Lo Hei’ celebration.


捞鱼 is a tradition during the Chinese New Year (CNY) period, as we Chinese believe that the higher one tosses the Yu Sheng, the better luck we will have for for the whole year. We will never miss out on this, especially since Baby loves this dish very much!


The Sweet and Sour Pork with Pineapple is a classic dish and is a staple in Cantonese Cuisine. It was not overly sweet, and maintained a well-balance taste with the pineapple chunks.


We ordered a quintessential 大牌 (dà pái dàng) dish, the Sautéed Beef Tenderloin with Black Pepper & Potatoes. I like the house-made black pepper sauce which was surprisingly good and complimented the potatoes well with the potatoes .

I will come back again for sure, as the food as the food tasted pretty good, had a strong Hong Kong theme, and was overall a good Zichar Spot. It’s definitely worth to check out!


Baby booked a table at Acqua e Farina Restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This restaurant is a cosy Italian restaurant located at The Rail Mall.


A bread basket was served shortly after being seated, while we helped ourselves with the Olive Oil and Vinegar which was placed on each table.

We started off with the Zuppa Del Giorno - Minestrone Soup.



I had the Spaghetti Al Gambero, and the pasta was cooked to Al Dente perfection! I truly enjoyed it, and it was AWESOMELY GOOD!!

We ended our dinner with a refreshing Pistachio Gelato! We were given the complimentary Italian Donut (Zeppole). It tasted good, and the density of the donut kept us wanting more!


The Acqua e Farina Restaurant is a hidden gem that serves really authentic and awesome Italian food. We enjoyed our dinner. Thanks Baby for the dinner treat arrangement!

It is time to buy dinner for my Baby as thanks to him for the things he does for me, especially since we got our own place back in 2021. We went to Kith Cafe for our meal, and it is located at the Thomson Plaza.

I end my post with a Birthday Celebration for XH which was held at the SUO’s function room! Happy 30th Birthday, pal!
