Weekend Food Indulge

It's been almost 1.5 years since I last visited an eatery place known as 928 Ampang Yong Tau Foo... As mentioned before, Baby is staying at the northern side of Singapore and we love to patron this eatery place @ Upper Thomson Road which specializes in traditional Hakka-styled Yong Tau Foo.
We went there for a late lunch on a random Saturday, and fortunately there was not much of a crowd at all, phew!. We ordered a Yong Tau Foo platter for 2... The service seemed exceptionally efficient. What makes Ampang Yong Tau Foo so special and different from the rest is that you don't get to choose your preferred items as they usually come with standard piece items and the items are meant to deep-fried and covered in a special made gravy.
A standard set - include Fishballs, Tau Po, Fried Wanton, Fried Beancurd Skin, Tau Gwa, Ladyfinger, Bittergourd, Quail Egg, Brinjal and a lot of KangKong. The highlight is the thick brown gravy, which makes the dry rice and fried items become more nicer and tasty.

The damage was mininal... Overall, this place is value for money and the Yong Tau Foo was good.

Friday dinner after work, we settled down @ Dian Xiao Er - Vivo City. I miss the Herbal Roasted Duck so much....
We ordered '3 cai 1 tang'... We had the Signature Herbal Roasted Duck, Ma Po Tofu, Eggplant in Claypot and the soup of the day - Fungus with Pork Ribs Soup.
Angelica Herbs Roasted Duck

Being their main specialty - combination of Angelica (Tung Gui) and roasted duck. The duck meat is tender, juicy, the roasted skin is crispy & addictive. A MUST TRY, indeed!!!
 Claypot Egg Plant
Too peppery and slight oily, overall was pretty alright... Still worth trying if you don't mind the peppery taste.
'Ma Po Tofu tasted rather normal, nothing to shout about... But my Baby find it pretty delicious.
Fungus with Pork Ribs Soup was tasty...

In fact, all the dishes that we had ordered tasted delicious, especially their Signature Herbal Roasted Duck is AWESOME and HEAVENLY TASTY & HERBALLY GOOD... Thanks Baby for the wonderful dinner... Nice food with efficient service. The damage was SGD52...

The ambience at Dian Xiao Er is intentionally planned to be rustic and raw with the careful selection of materials to complement the freshness of the herbal roast ducks which are prepared and roasted in the display kitchen daily. Customers can expect to experience a choice of dining ambience varying from dining inside a traditional Chinese inn to dining inside a rustic timber shed at the foot of a stone cliff.

A place for social occasion to bring people together at a single place and enjoy each other's company. No matter what, Dian Xiao Er is your pit-stop for all occasions
