World Runway Tournament - Round 1

For the first time in the history of the fashion world, teams from the world’s eight fashion Capitals - Brazil, France, Italy, Japan, Russia, Singapore, UK and USA come together to compete, challenge their ability to put together runway looks with pieces bought from local shops within just two days.

Each participating country will form a team of three - fashion director, make-up artist and hair stylist. The final runway looks will be modelled by 40 models appointed by the World Runway Committee.

The challenge was split into 2 rounds... For the first round, eight countries will present their creations through the runway, but only 4 countries will be selected to continue in the second round. The winner of the second round will then ultimately crowned as the champion for WORLD RUNWAY FASHION TOURNAMENT...

Brazil

France - Simple design yet classy look... All I can say they are pretty safe in their creation... Bold & daring was missing from their collection

Italy - I feel the design & the model's make-up are very similar to Jesters and Harlequinns.

Japan - Awesome collection, I love their designs very much.

Russia - Their collection is very much out of the world that I don't think anyone of us will be wearing out on the street...

Singapore - Avant Garde designs with bold & bright colors.

USA - I love the smart causal mix n match and great color combination.

UK - Amazing collection with great details on their dresses and ready-to-kill heels... Thumbs up!

Results for the 1st round... Which 4 countries are going on to the final round?

*Drum-roll*

Props to Singapore, France, UK & Japan

Stay tuned for the final battle ; 4 countries compete with one another to win SGD100,000...

Most-wanted fashion runway - WORLD RUNWAY PREMIERE

Together, we made our way to the most wanted fashion runway of the year - WORLD RUNWAY PREMIERE. Organized by the team behind Tokyo Girls Collection and Asia Girls Explosion, WORLD RUNWAY premiered in Singapore on 18 September 2011 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

My lovely companions...

Utt was the host for the runway show...

During the event, rising fashion stars from eight countries around the world - Brazil, France, Italy, Japan, Russia, Singapore, UK and USA  will compete with each other in the first-ever global fashion faceoff.

To create 10 runway looks with a budget of S$500, contestants from each country will scout Singapore’s most fashionable streets for ideas.

Jake f.R., Director for WORLD RUNWAY who is also the judge during the event, claimed that WORLD RUNWAY aims to share with Singaporean ladies street-fashion that is practical and affordable. He feels that there is so much more than just fashion alone as it is also about the music and the love. Fashion without the music is not a show. And a show without love is a performance without soul.

RAOUL Fall / Winter 2011 Collection - Jet Setter Glam

Received an invitation from Harpers Bazaar magazine via snail mail. I attended the RAOUL Fall / Winter 2011 Collection, Jet Setter Glam @ Paragon with Huney...

We tucked in to some finger food and drank some wine while waiting for all the guests to arrive. Our favourite past-time is Camwhoring...

Range of clothing from RAOUL are always stylish, comfortable and classy. The mix n Match is brilliant. I always love the runway segment of each fashion events...

The collection is pretty simple yet elegant... Overall, the collection is very versatile to go for mix and match...

Models posed to showcase the Fall/Winter collection, as all the invitees were free to browse and roam around the store for more clothing selections.

The in-trend for this season is - A false scarf on each dress or top as a fashion statement. The whole collection of RAOUL gave me a vintage and classic feeling.

This shoulder bag caught my attention and the price is reasonable too.

Cam-whoring in the fitting room, while Huney was trying a dress of her choice....

Took this pic using the mirror reflection from the fitting room.

Thanks RAOUL for the nice presentation and Harper Bazaar for the invite!
