[DAY 02] Singapore Social Concerts featuring Aerosmith
Aerosmith LIVE in concert marked the second and the final part of the Singapore Social Concerts. This was after global music acts from PSY, Blush, Cee-Lo Green and Carly Rae Jepsen on the first day at the same venue, The Meadows.
An inaugural
performance by Aerosmith is a long awaited concert for many Aerosmith’s loyal
fans in Singapore. Many Singaporeans, including Baby and I had waited a few decades to catch
Aerosmith in Singapore LIVE in concert, and our dreams came true as we witnessed
the LIVE performance of this legendary and iconic rock band.
We were able
to attend the Singapore Social Concerts, DAY 02 (finale) all thanks to
Starcount.
Upon
reaching The Meadows, Baby and I headed to the merchandising booth to pick up
some premiums from Aerosmith. We picked up a cap and a scarf.
We wore our
loots throughout the whole concert… *HARD CORE RITE* Hahaha!!
Baby and I
had already reserved our spot (up the hills, center of the stage) in the mosh
pit around 7plus and we had waited patiently in the beginning and later anxiously
for Aerosmith to be on stage…
Baby and I
did a lot of cam-whoring and Baby’s vanity level has increased each day, and he
took quite a number of photos of him that day.
The opening
act was Euphoria Audio, a UK Band who performed a string of their ballads.
The moment
when Aerosmith was stage, vocalist, Steve Tyler, 65 made his presence felt with
a shimmery black coat, graphic singlet, a pair of tight pants and not to forget
a pair of large retro red-framed shades.
The Rock
band began their concert with songs from their recent album, ‘Music From Another
Dimension’, but when they began singing their classic rock hits, it brought the crowd to a party mood. Baby and I felt the mood and got on our feet with their catchy
song - ‘Jaded’, it is one of our favorite hits from Aerosmith.
I was
contented when the band sang their 1998 smash hit, ‘I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing’.
This song was the soundtrack of the movie, ‘Armageddon' which starred Ben Affleck
and Steve Tyler’s daughter, Liv Tyler.
Steve Tyler still has a pretty high sex appeal to the ladies, even though he is old enough to be a grandfather, as he winked.
Though Steve
Tyler did not hit as many high pit notes as he used to do in the past, I will
still be giving him the credits for his energetic performance despite being
65 years old.
The most
iconic part of the whole concert was when Steve Tyler asked the crowd, "Do you guys
like old shit or new shit?" The entire crowd shouted "OLD SHIT!" and Steve
Tyler replied: "I love you guys even more now." This scene was damn cool lah…
I am still
in awe with the fabulous 2-hr concert by Aerosmith, the greatest rock band ever
in the music industry while writing this blog post. Thanks for the invite!!
