[September Holiday] Day 01/02 in Hong Kong

I'm back in Hong Kong after my May trip with my friends, but this trip will be a relaxing one with my hubby! We are ultimate food lovers, especially of Hong Kong cuisine!

As usual, I took Cathay Pacific Airways to Hong Kong, and I did my normal routine onboard, which was to browse through the list of newly released movies from the in-flight entertainment guide selection.

Prior to our departure, we purchased our round trip for the Airport Express from KLOOK. After 3hrs 55mins of flying, I landed at Hong Kong International Airport, and once I cleared the immigration customs/checks, it was easy to just hop on to the Airport Express train!

This time round, I stayed at The Langham Hong Kong with Club Lounge access. This hotel is conveniently located outside the Tsim Sha Tsui East - Exit L5.

After checking into our room, it was already past 11pm, so we decided to have supper at Parkes Street. We took one stop MTR ride to Jordan Station and made our way to Mak Man Kee Noodle House. This eatery place is listed under the MICHELIN Guide, and they are known for their Wantan noodles and beef brisket. It was pretty busy at the shop when we reached there, but luckily, we managed to get a small table to ourselves.

Apart from ordering 2 bowls of Wantan Noodles, we also shared a plate of greenies and a portion of beef brisket as well. The texture of noodles was firm and springy, and the wantan was large in size and filled with succulent prawns.

The Beef Brisket was delicious, and it was the tastiest, most gelatinous tendons I’ve ever tasted before!

After our meal, we didn’t head back to the train station to go back to our hotel immediately despite of the risk of missing out on the last train. We wanted to spend more time in Hong Kong before calling it a day. We walked over to the supermarket which was located at Kimberly Road to do some grocery shopping.

Back at the hotel, we slowly looked through the amenities that the club room offered us. The hotel was so sweet to prepare a birthday cake for my Baby.

We were also given a Fruit Basket and a canister of Sesame Cookies.

The next day, we woke up early and headed over to the Club Lounge to have our breakfast which is sharing the same floor as our room.

The lounge offers a comprehensive selection of food, and we had a delightful breakfast before heading out for our day's activities.

A journey to Hong Kong is not complete without experiencing Stanley Market. It is one of the must-go places for tourists when they visit Hong Kong. This place might seem a bit ‘touristy’ but we are tourists, and this place certainly helped us to cross off all our souvenirs-to-buy for our friends and family members!

We made our way to Yat Lok for lunch, which is located in the Central district just a short walk from the MTR station. It is widely considered to serve the best roast goose in Hong Kong, and it is popular with both locals and tourists. We waited in line for about 15 minutes before we were given a table.

I love the crispy skin and succulent meat of the roasted goose. It was roasted to perfection, and most importantly, the skin had that perfect crispiness while the meat remained juicy and tender! For a Michelin 1-Star restaurant, Yat Lok is definitely very affordable.

As mentioned before, this holiday was a relaxed one for us, ‘no rush just enjoy’. We took the train back to our hotel which is literally 2 stops from Central Station to Tsim Sha Tsui Station.

We rested in our room for about an hour and headed down for our Afternoon Tea at the Club Lounge. We helped ourselves to some sandwiches, egg tarts and scones!

After our afternoon tea, we made our way by foot to 1881 Heritage. There was a Special Event: ART FOR HERITAGE - THE HONG KONG STORY which is located at Grand Piazza.

We took a stroll down memory lane for an architectural tour of Hong Kong's iconic colorful shophouses from the 1950’s and 1960’s.

We took many random photos against the architectural designs!

We continued to walk down to Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Promenade to take some photos. Here we are at the Avenue of Stars once again!

I love the breath-taking scenery of the other side of the harbour - Wan Chai Waterfront Promenade.

As we walked along the Victoria Harbour, we spotted a Hong Kong's iconic red-sail Chinese junk boat - AquaLuna. I told Baby, I would like to sail on this junk and experience stunning panoramic views of the city during my next visit to Hong Kong again.

We went to the newly opened K11 MUSEAand it is a premier museum-retail complex which is lcoated at the heart of Victoria Dockside.

Once we entered the mall, we could find art pieces in every corner of K11 MUSEA, and it is truly an artsy fartsy mall.

In this artsy mall, there were public artworks on display, and you can take photos with them.

We also went to Rooftop Garden of K11 Musea to enjoy the beautiful views of Victoria Harbour.

We left the harbour when the sky was about to turn dark, as we wanted to beat the crowd who came for the spectacular light show - ‘A Symphony of Lights’ which is always conducted at the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade.

We walked back to our hotel for Cocktails and Canapes at the Club Lounge. We ate some savoury tarts and had champagne! We left the hotel around quarter to nine at night for our dinper (dinner + supper).

We took the MTR to Yau Ma Tai Station for our late dinner. We re-visited Hing Kee Restaurant (興記仔飯), as we fell in love with this restaurant after our first visit in May with our friends. We got to know about this eatery place as it was recommended by the Michelin Guide.

We were so lucky to be given a table upon reaching the shop. While the restaurant primarily sells Claypot Rice, they do have many other options. The Claypot Rice sold here are cooked to order, and there is an average waiting time of about 20 minutes.

We had these Deep-Fried Oysters Cakes to fill our stomachs, while waiting for our Claypot Rice to be served to us. The fried oysters cakes were super delicious and worth the price paid! The serving was pretty generous even though we asked for the small version.

I added their house special rice pot soy sauce which was slightly sweet, and this enhanced the overall taste of the rice!

I would definitely come back again, as the rice was skilfully cooked as well as being extremely delicious!

After our dinner, we went over to do more grocery shopping at Wellcome - Supermarket Chain in Hong Kong before heading back to the Tsim Sha Tsui area.
