[food review] OK Chicken Rice and Humfull Prawn Laksa + Fire Rice

A party of 6 of us went for our dinner at OK Chicken Rice and Humfull Prawn Laksa which is located at the Broadway Coffee Shop in Bedok

OK Chicken Rice pecializes in steamed, roasted and deep-fried chicken dishes. There are some unique options such as ‘Fatbulous Chicken Cutlet’ and ‘Fatbulous Chicken Skin’. The rice was well-seasoned without any excessive oilness, providing a more guilt-free experience. The chilli sauce is the usual garlicky chicken rice chilli.

The Roasted Chicken was the one that was best in my opinion. I love the tasty golden-brown skin and tender meat. We topped up our meal with braised eggs, tofu and the green veggies.

IMHO, OK Chicken Rice & Humfull Laksa was a satisfactory meal, but it didn’t leave a lasting impression. However, my other makan mates loved it. Oh well, oone man's meat is another man's poison!

Come and try it yourself and decide whether it is a pass for you!

Recently, Baby and I had lunch at the ‘Fire Rice’ - Toa Payoh outlet, where we got to try out highly raved egg fried rice that had a great ‘wok hei’ aroma. They made a delicious egg fried rice even though it was from a coffee shop.

I was thrilled when I found out they also specialized in Sambal Fried Rice. It was excellent and pleasantly spicy!

The egg fried rice was light and fluffy. It tasted so delicious that I could just eat the rice alone. We tried 2 of their new launches, the Taiwan Sausages Fried Rice and Sambal Tempura Fish Fillet Fried Rice. They were so flavourful and yummy, and we both enjoyed them very much.

They have a good portion with restaurant-quality fried rice at an affordable price, I would simply head down to Fire Rice whenever I have a craving for hearty and comforting fried rice. Likewise, if you are nearby or in this area, do not miss the opportunity to try out their fried rice. Fire Rice is definitely a good option to satisfy your taste buds!
