[pictorial post] POP TOY SHOW 2024 + , Play:Date – Unlocking Cabinets of Play

After being a success last year, the POP TOY SHOW returned to Singapore for its second run. Baby and I decided to visit as the event claimed to be bigger and better than last year! It has never failed to showcase the latest and newest premium toys to all avid fans in Singapore.

I picked up a fancy blind bag from ABAO EVIL DICE BABY, and it came with a evil dice plus lanyard.

I picked up a box of 4 random some cute figurines from HeyCiao.

Baby is a big fan of the Power Rangers,  and he made his order for the Green Ranger's iconic dagger! As a bonus, the retailer also gave 2 Star Wars coins for his purchase as they were also carrying Star Wars as a brand.

We also picked up 2 blind boxes - Opandee Zombie Party Badge

We got some freebies from some various booths!

The POP TOY SHOW 2024 is a good treat for all toy fans/collectors as it is definitely a golden opportunity to purchase exclusive Limited-Edition Collectibles, as well as to meet 'n' greet the creators/designers. Don't forget to ask for their autographs as a keepsake too!

Baby and I went to the National Museum of Singapore’s latest pop-up, Play:Date – Unlocking Cabinets of Play, and it is running from now till the 5th January 2025. We were quite happy that) we visited the world of playful nostalgia in order to relive our childhood memories.

This pop-up features various toys we grew up with – from vintage Barbies dolls to discontinued gaming consoles. It brought back many fond memories of old toys that we may remember from childhood.

We took a trip down memory lane with a series of local McDonald’s toys – including the popular Mr Kiasu figurines, McNugget figurines, as well as a vintage collection of Barbie Dolls.

There was also a display for the iconic electronic games of the past, such as Tamagotchi! Apart from that, there were also displays for the retro Casio game consoles that serve as a nostalgic reminder of the days before touchscreen technology! Oh my, it was a joy to recall playing with these!

Do make a trip down this interesting pop up to relive your childhood memories!

I end my post with my visit - The Good Old Games: A Light-Up Installation which is part of the Singapore Night Festival 2024!

Reminisce our yesteryear memories with some old-school games with friends when we were younger! Thinking back to our simpler and joyful times, the games we played were 'chapteh', 'five stones', 'gasing' (spinning tops) and 'country flag erasers'!

For newer generations, do make some pose with some of the life-sized old-school games which are located at the Front Lawn of National Museum of Singapore
