AFTERLIGHT Festival + Dinner at Seafood Paradise & Ume San 100

We brought the Hayboy with us to the augural AFTERLIGHT Festival which was held at CQ @ Clarke Quay. It is an immersive celebration of music, art, and technology

We had some light refreshment at Clarke Quay before heading down to experience Singapore’s first social culture festival merging ART, TECH, and MUSIC at AFTERLIGHT Festival.

Upon arrival, guests received a Glowing Afterlight Identity Bracelet, and we loved the Aura Matchmaking Social Card Game. We were also given goodies bags!

We traded the Aura cards around the festival with other attendees to score a Full House to redeem special AFTERLIGHT merch.

I recently visited the Seafood Paradise outlet located at VivoCity, as Baby had a 32% e-voucher that was about to expire on 21 November 2025. We decided to use it instead of letting it go.

We started off with our all-time favorite - Scottish Bamboo Clam with Minced Garlic. It was a solid rendition of a classic dish. The clam was delightfully fresh and sweet-tasting, and we loved the fragrant minced garlic mix very much. Nothing more was needed to improve on this dish, it was just simple awesome!

The Baked Pork Rib with Honey Pepper Sauce was surprisingly delicious! It is baked not fried, and each pork rib preserved its tender juiciness. I loved the umami flavours from the baked pork ribs. It was very appetising, and was our favorite part of the entire meal!

Our damage was pretty reasonable after the members’ e-voucher discount! I will definitely come back for their Baked Pork Rib again!

I also recently visited a hidden speakeasy bar ; The 'Ume San 100' – A Hidden Izakaya & Ramen Bar hidden behind mock Japanese Vending Machines. This place is located at Fortune Centre which actually houses a large number of vegetarian eateries.

The interior is that of a classic izakaya bar seating, but Ume San 100 is also a ramen bar and also a contemporary speakeasy cocktail bar as it offers a largest selection of umeshu in Singapore. I loved the casual atmosphere inside(, which had stools alongside a bamboo bar counter.

Baby had the Angry Asari Soup RamenThe base consists of white miso mixed with a pork-bone broth, and accompanied with a special chilli paste. The fresh Asari clams enhanced the broth with a hint of sweetness.

Baby enjoyed it very much, as it was pretty slurp-worthy.

I ordered the Signature Nagoya Dry Prawn Ramen - a mazesoba-style dry ramen which featured springy noodles tossed in a special  sauce with minced meat to enhance the flavor

The Uni Croquettes were the highlight of our meal. They were da bomb! Upon biting into the crispy fried ball, the buttery molten sea urchin in the centre started to ooze out. A must-order finger food to relish with your drink!

Overall, the experience was delightful and the food was not bad too, so give the slurpy-spicy Angry Asari Soup Ramen and Uni Croquettes a try when you are there!
