Outing at Jewel Changi + Dinner at Tomi Sushi Katong
Finally, JJM resumed our weekly meetups for weekend events, and this time, we visited the Children's Festival 2023: Nature's Imaginarium which was held at the Gardens by the Bay!
We also went to the latest addition at Gardens by the Bay - Jurassic Nest. It is Singapore’s first dinosaur-themed food hall that houses various Michelin Gourmand rated eateries!
Diners could watch the animatronics of the dinosaurs come alive as they were programmed with multi-sensory and movement functions at certain timings daily. YAY! The immersive shows are free admission too!
The Discover Marina Central Race brought us on a 1.5-hour long journey around the Marina Central District, and our mission was to complete as many quests as we can within the time given!
Unfortunately, we were not in the top10 teams, but we had fun! After that, we made our way to Jewel Changi for lunch at Paradise Classic!
We went to the inaugural Krisflyer Fest which was held at Jewel Changi Airport (L5 Cloud9 Piazza) Once we entered the premises, we were given a card known as the KrisFlyer Fest Passport. We collected all 4 stamps by completing all the activities in order to redeem a mystery gift!
After the KrisFlyer Fest, we walking around Jewel Airport, and took some random photos against the Iron Man statue that was approximately 5-metre tall!
One a random Fri-date with my Baby, he booked a table for us at Tomi Sushi Katong. It is a cosy Japanese restaurant serving Niigata cuisine. It is located on the second level of Katong Village Mall, and from the outside, it looks like a small restaurant in Japan. The eatery place consists of a sushi bar, counter seats and regular dining tables.
The batter of the Fried Kaki was light and not too oily. It had a crisp texture on the outside and was juicy on the inside.
It has been a long hiatus since I last went to Genki Sushi for a sushi fix! There is a new outlet recently opened at SingPost, so we settled our dinner on a random weekend. It was a pretty long wait before we got our seats. We ordered quite a few random sushi items and our orders 'rode' in on a mini Shinkansen (Bullet Train) which came all the way from the kitchen. This is definitely faster than a conveyor belt! Clear the train by taking out the plates and placing them on your table.
My parents enjoyed the Lala Hor Fun the most. It is one of Hua Yu Wee’s signature dish. I love the flavorful Lala broth and the crispy fritters which added a crunchy texture to the Hor Fun.
