[Media Drop] Singaporean local snacks by ETC Travel Retail

From humble local delights to international gifts, ETC Travel Retail is bringing the best of Singaporean local snacks to travelers at Changi Airport. 

I was unable to attend the opening launch of ETC Travel Retail’s new store in Terminal 2, Changi Airport, Transit/Departure Lounge. However, ETC Travel Retail was nice to send me some of their signature snacks, for which I am thankful!

I’ve always had to crack my head when getting local delicacies or snack treats when visiting my friends overseas, or when overseas friends come over to visit me in Singapore. Through some videos from foreign YouTubers, I saw many of these tourists bringing home famous salted egg chips, kaya jam, artisan tea & coffee, and lastly the popular pandan cake!

They are the perfect souvenirs for travelers to take a taste of Singapore home with them! The packaging of the ETC Travel Retail’s selection of snacks features Singapore’s Landmark Design, and this will surely intrigue tourists to bring them back to their homeland. Each snack is packed with high-quality ingredients with no pork or lard as well as are preservative-free..

Without further ado, let’s move to the review part…



The Salted Egg Spicy Salmon Skin and Spicy Fish Skin tasted nice, and I felt that it had a balanced coat of salted egg powder. If you like spicy food, you are in for a treat, as they were pretty spicy. Fret not, ETC Travel Retail also offers the non-spicy versions of these crisps. They were pretty addictive too! Do take note, that they might be crushed easily, so do remember to hand carry them cautiously.

The Salted Egg Crunchmix consists of Salted Egg Fish Skin, Crisp-so Seaweed and BBQ Potato Chips! This Crunchmix is so "Singaporean" as we love to try many flavors in one go! The selection of snacks really sound welcoming for us! It is definitely a must-have snack bag for most Singaporeans.


Next, I tried the Gourmet Squid Snack - Cuttlefish Floss, Cuttlefish Honey and Cuttlefish Red with Sugar. These snacks might be everyone’s favorite, and not to forget, they are under the category of the ‘Taste of Seafood Traditions’. To me, these are nostalgic snacks - It reminds me of my parents buying these during CNY period.



This snack reminds me of the classic dried squid snack that tends to be on a sweet and savory side. ETC Travel Retail’s Cuttlefish Honey is coated with sugar and chewy. This is an ideal snack, especially if you like seafood-flavored snacks!



Lastly, saving the best bite for the last! The Artisanal Chocolate. Each product is carefully selected, ensuring exceptional quality and the distinctive flavors of Singapore.

I tried out the Cookies & Cream Artisanal Chocolate Bar, and I believe many will say that this is the safest option, as you can't really go wrong with Cookies & Cream. Oh well, my perspective is that the simplest choice is always the hardest to please consumers. As this is a common flavor, many people will have high expectations on it!


Yes! ETC Travel Retail ATE it! It tasted fabulous, and I could even taste the bits of cookies from the chocolate bar!
