Good morning, Okinawa! As usual, we headed down to the club lounge
to enjoy our breakfast. This time round, I ordered the traditional Japanese
breakfast set.
After our brekkie, we headed down to another attraction in Okinawa. We were interested to experience ‘Traditional Okinawa’, by visiting Ryukyu Mura, and this was our itinerary for today.
Ryukyu Mura is a historical park that is dedicated to traditional Okinawa culture, and also the perfect place to experience first-hand, the spirit of the islands.
Just the sight of the architecture was magnificent,
and we were really excited to explore this wonderfully themed village!
Inside the park, there was a row of traditional Ryukyu houses, which recreated the olden-day Okinawan atmosphere. From what i have heard, it is often used as a location for filmmaking.
We learnt about what life in the olden days of Okinawa was like. The experience was very interactive and there were a lot of activities that we could participate in - such as trying to play the local instrument sanshin, painting your own bingata, or making your own colourful shisa.
There were also plenty of traditional performances - folks dances in Okinawa-styled kimonos took place daily in the village.
We had some refreshing local dessert at the village, and after experiencing the atmosphere and culture of the old Ryukyu Kingdom of Okinawa, we were ready to proceed to our next destination!
Overall, Ryukyu Mura is an interactive facility for Okinawan
culture, arts and performance. I would definitely recommend that you come here
if you’re looking for a place to sit back and relax. You can take many
interesting photos against the rustic background setting.
After leaving the premise of Ryukyu Mura, Cape Manzamo was our next stop.
Cape Manzamo is a famous sightseeing spot in Okinawa, Japan, that offers stunning natural scenery and cultural significance. It has also earned the name 'Elephant Rock'. This is because the rock formation resembles an elephant’s trunk. Many people come here to experience the iconic rock formation in person and its unique views.
If you visit Okinawa's main island, this one of the places that I highly recommend visiting.
The weather was kinda chilly when we were there in January. We headed up to the second floor to have our early dinner. Our meal was delightful, and the dining experience was simple yet satisfying.
After our meal, we headed back to the American Village for some shopping before heading back to our hotel.

This concluded my travel experience for the fourth day in Okinawa, Japan!! Stay tuned, for the next post!
