--- More posters of Time Traveller - The Girl Who Leapt Through Time ---
Akari played by Riisa Naka who is sent on a misson by her mother to travel back in time to fulfil her one last promise. Akari got the year mixed up and arrives in 1974 i/o 1972... Due to the 2 years difference, she met up film-maker - Ryota played by Akiyoshi Nakao for help.
The relationship between Akari and Ryota grows as time goes, even though she must return back to the future and leave Ryota behind... This accidental love becomes genuinely touching. Things get complicated when they began to fall in love and when Akari learns that Ryota is destined to die in a bus accident in the same year... That was definitely a cruel fact knowing that your beloved is leaving the world and you can't do anything to stop it from happening... As everyone knows, the ONE important golden rule in all time-travel stories is that YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE PAST.
A pretty soild mesh of romance and drama with sci-fi. This plot is cliche, but this film moves in such a brisk pace with suspense... I went along with the movie to discover Akari's time-travelled experience. Overall, was a pretty entertaining Japanese movie, but the ending was kinda disappointing.
Riisa Naka does a pretty good job in acting... She has a likeable face too :)
Rating: 3.5/5
I believe that human emotions and feelings will remain forever, even though memories may fade over time...
