[media tour] Speciality & Fine Food Asia and Restaurant, Pub & Bar Asia2019

Southeast Asia's leading trade show for fine food and drink - Speciality & Fine Food Asia (SFFA) and Restaurant, Pub & Bar Asia (RPB Asia) returned for the third edition this year at Suntec Singapore.
The shows brought together global exhibitors, leading chefs, hospitality industry experts to Singapore for a series of exciting demo sessions and panel discussions. The SG Food Tech Week was introduced this year too!

It was all thanks to ChewyJas, who helped me to secure a slot in order to attend the exclusive media tour of the event. Through the media tour, we were introduced to the show's most exciting line-up of artisanal gourmet and drink producers from all around the world.

We visited 'Ivy House' from Taichung, and we tried out some signature Taiwanese snacks too. Taichung is located in central Taiwan, and is Taiwan's second largest city. In Taichung, you can find many popular pastries, cookies and even tea leaves, as Taichung has a rich and historic dietary culture.

I enjoyed the Pure Milk Shortbread from Babuu House which tasted like a crispy waffle. Only fresh milk was used in the making process, and there was no milk powder, no fragrance, no coloring, and there were no preservatives either. There were several variants to choose from.

OLU Tropical Water gets its natural mineral water from a source originating 4300 feet above sea level, from the Cloud Forests of Sri Lanka. The water is supposed to level up our lifestyle standards and values in order to support health and wellness.

Co-sharing of work-space is now becoming more and more popular in Singapore. It is pretty common now! However, have you ever heard about co-working kitchens? If you are unsure, let me introduce 'IncuBaker', Singapore's first licensed Co-Working Kitchen. One of the products that were hand-crafted at IncuBaker was HOGULA.

HOGULA is an artisan Asian-inspired brittle made with the finest palm sugar and high-quality nuts that were roasted to perfection. HOGULA is a healthier alternative as they do not contain any additives or preservatives.

The booth that we spent the longest time during the tour was at the Export Promotion Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as the friendly representative introduced many of their products to us. We tried out their fresh and preserved fruits and nuts, which we found quite delicious.

PROVACUNO is the inter-professional organisation of the Spanish Beef industry. Due to the efficient and sustainable production within the Spanish meat industry, beef is one of the key sectors! Sadly, the beef was still in the process of cooking while we were at the booth, hence we missed out on the chance to give it a try, as we had very little time to mingle at each booth.

Lastly, thanks for the pineapple snacks which were given generously by the Ananas Republic! These premium snacks are sweet, yet can be considered generally healthier!

Thanks for having us at the media tour, and Speciality & Fine Food Asia and Restaurant, Pub & Bar Asia back again from the 29 September to 01 October 2020! See you next year!
