Opening Night of 'Bluey’s Big Play'

I had the pleasure of attending the Opening Night of 'Bluey’s Big Play' which had its debut in Asia at Singapore’s Sand Theatre, Marina Bay Sands from 13/June 2024 all thanks to Base Entertainment Asia. Thanks for having us at the Opening Night!

Get ready for some great laughs! Throughout the 50-minute stage play, there were various heartfelt concepts and messages to remind both kids and adults of important values such as kindness, spending quality time with each other and forgiveness.

Bluey is an Australian children’s animated television series which follows the adventures of a lovable and energetic Bluey, who lives with her parents Bandit and Chilli, and her younger sister, Bingo, in the suburbs of Brisbane.

'Bluey’s Big Play' brings a smile to everyone’s faces. As we watch Bluey and Bingo pull out all the ideas to get Dad away from his phone, the scenes are very familiar, as most parents these days are always on their cellphones! It reminded me that this particular social problem is quite common and occurs in most households!

At the end of the play, a bunch of balloons were tossed out to the audience for a game called ‘Keepie Uppy’ that is super popular on the ‘Bluey’ TV show. Unfortunately, my six-year-old KaeGirl was kinda disappointed as our sitting section didn’t get any balloons tossed to us at all mainly because we were not seated in the centre section.

There are plenty of Bluey merchandise available to purchase on site. There are caps, t-shirts and hoodies available for both kids and adults. I picked up a Bingo plush for KaeGirl to take a little piece of memorabilia home with her!

We had a really great time at the opening night. Bluey’s Big Play also delivers important social messages, such as being kind and on the importance of spending quality time together as a family. I wholeheartedly recommend it, as it is quite a perfect family entertainment show where you can take your little ones to during the June School Holidays!
