There is much hype recently about Saving the Earth or Saving Gaia in short. As much as I can do personally, I would save the earth by sending out emails and not printing them unless necessary and cut down the usage on plastic bags by using recycle bags instead.

NEA has recently launch an EcoMusic Challenge to discover local talents who have the passion and interest in composing music to inspire clean and green living to the public to save the earth.

13 finalists were selected for the final challenge at Orchard Central, and it was successfully concluded on the 27 August 2011... The winners were :

Champion : Lee Fengheng - World Without Fences
1st runner-up :Julian Kwok - Love for Planet Earth

2nd runner-up : Darren Lee & Yap Rei Horng - 早安你好!

NEA collaborated on the 15 eco songs with home-grown talents into an album - EcoMusic Challenge Season 2 featuring the Clean & Green Singapore 2012 theme song : World without Fences...

Let me share my thoughts and views for the top 3 winners' music pieces... 

World Without Fences by Lee Fengheng 

Light-hearted rhythm with beautiful lyrics, and the music is well-arranged... I love how the music flows which telling us that we need to do something for our mother earth RIGHT NOW...

Love for Planet Earth by Julian Kwok

The lyrics is meaningful, this song can really send out a message to us to save the earth. Kinda touched while listening to the song, music arrangement was pretty good.

 早安你好! by Darren Lee & Yap Rei Horng

I love the combination of Bilingual lyrics in this song, which really makes it feel home-grown song. Catchy tunes with nice music groove that will linger with me for sometime after listening.

Basically the whole album, you can feel that there is a mixture fast-pace music of the easy listening genre. All the lyrics written is to urge us to show some love to the earth that we are living in right now. 

After listening, I was impressed with our local talents as their songs were well written and composed... Kudos to all the people who are involved in this album set up. As we are part of the mother earth, let us do our best to protect her as 'GO GREEN' starting from you and me.
