'The Muppets' is an American musical and comedy film. The story is about Walter (performed by Peter Linz) who is the biggest Muppet fan and his brother, Gary (starring Jason Segel) and his girlfriend, Mary (played by Amy Adams) help, and they have to get all the Muppets to reunite to raise $10million to save the old Muppet Theatre from a greedy oil tycoon, Tex Richman (starring Chris Cooper) who plans to demolish the Muppet Theatre to drill for oil.
Jason Segel is the co-writer for this movie who is also a Muppet fanatic. He plays his role pretty well in the movie as well... A lot of cameo guest stars are in the movie too, and they range from Jack Black, Emily Blunt, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez and etc, as to send a message for younger audience on why Muppets are loved by most people who were born in the 70s and 80s...
As this is a musical movie, I had a soft spot for one of the songs apart from 'Rainbow Connection' which was 'Pictures in my Head' that was sung by Kermit... This song is very touching as Kermit was walking through the hallway of Muppet paintings while he was singing this song. This added a sentimental feeling to it.
The original Muppet Movie is always a classic and memorial, I was smiling throughout the entire movie and tears just naturally rolled down on my cheeks as The Muppets really made a comeback through this reunion and rekindle their glory days... WELCOME BACK, MUPPETS!!
'The Muppets' is definitely one of the best movies in 2011, as this movie has everything - entertaining, adorable, heartwarming and of course hilarious.
What I like about this movie is that, it treats the Muppet characters as if they were real life actors/actress... Absolutely CLEVER!!! The movie is great! Oh well, the only downside is the movie should be longer but it is barely a complaint...
I really enjoy the movie and I rated it as 4/5.
