Famous places of interest in Paris

After spending 4 days in UK, we headed to St Pancras Station, as we were about to board the Eurostar to Paris...

Before boarding the train, I did some shopping @ Cath Kidston... And YES! I got some loot for Dearie and myself.

I love the lip balm and my flowery business card holder and I hope Dearie will like the card holder I got for her too...
Hello Paris! It took us only 2hrs to reach there... We purchased the Tourist Pass to tour around Paris by Metro.

We upgraded the pass to Area 5 by paying additional as Disneyland Paris is located on the outskirt of Paris...

This was the Metro Station - Jacques Bonsergent where my hotel was located, Just a few stops away from the Eurostar station -  Gare du Nord... All I can say it was pretty convenient for us to travel around...

Paris is 1-hr ahead than London... Time for bed and we are heading for some sight-seeing the next day... Jess Baby misses her camwhoring, so there she goes, camwhoring in Hôtel du Nord before going to bed (:

We woke up early in the morning for brekkie, as Winter is around the corner, Western Europe will experience longer nights then day time... The sky turns bright ard 7.30am and gets dark ard 5pm...

We went to very decent bakery shop @ Republique to get some toasts for our first meal of the day... I ate the ham toast with a generous portion of shredded cheese spread on top of the bread...

Baby had the Classic Quiche... Apart from these two French bread and pastry, we ordered 2 Earl Grey Tea by the pot as well and that's came out the total bill of EUR14... Pretty hefty price to pay for breakfast.

We charged up our energy levels and planned our time for a look around in the lovely city of France - Paris. Our first stop at Charles de Gaulle—Étoile station. YES, we are heading to Arc de Triomphe.

Tourists love taking photos of the specially beautiful architectures, so how could we miss this rich in history architecture... Photo galores for us!!

The Arc de Triomphe (Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile) is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (originally named Place de l'Étoile).

The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and the Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I onwards.

To highlight the meaning of the Unknown Soldier, Baby explained to me the term is derived for those soldiers who died for France whose identities are not known and were given a resting place together.

Resting time, since we ate quite early in the morning, we kinda hungry after the walk and visit of the Arc de Triomphe so we decided to have some muffins from Mac...

Baby picked up some macarons from Mc Cafe...

Making our way to the Eiffel Tower by foot from  Charles de Gaulle—Étoile station.. It was a long walk but we got to enjoy all the scenery while we were strolling towards the Eiffel Tower...

From our picture, you can see that there was still a distance away to our destination... I love the weather in Paris, way better than London, as in Paris, I can see sunshine even though the temperature was around 12C...

Look at the sky, it looked so good...

~ Welcome to The Eiffel Tower ~

The Eiffel Tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend, by stairs or lift, to the first and second levels. The walk from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by elevator. The tower has become the most prominent symbol of both Paris and France, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city.

The Eiffel Tower (La Tour Eiffel) is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world.

The queue for the box ticket was insanely long, we queued for 30-45mins before entering the tower. Finally we got our tickets...

We took the elevator to go up the sommet (top in French)

That's us, waiting at the lift lobby to go up to the tower....

Here are we, at the top of Eiffel Tower and this is the signal for photo-ing time... Hahahahaa!!

A look at the scenic view from the tower...

 1 love our couple shots!

At the lower floor of the Eiffel Tower

Say 'High' (Hi) to Eiffel Tower (:

On the second level of Eiffel Tower, we went to the souvenir shop to do some merchandising... Picked up a few items there...

And a brunch of Eiffel Tower key-rings for my friends...

Time to bid goodbye to this magnificent Eiffel Tower...

We chosen to descend the tower by taking the stairs from the second level to the ground floor instead of the elevator. We need to walk over 600 steps to reach the ground level...

Baby happily walking down the stairs with his loot...

We reached the ground floor...  We didn't bear to leave the Eiffel tower, as the tower looks mighty and is the most-visited paid monument in the world.

Au revoir (see you again in French) Eiffel Tower!!!

Behind me is the amazing - Trocadéro...

The Trocadéro is an area of Paris, France in the 16th arrondissement across the Seine from the Eiffel Tower.

We need to pass by the Trocadéro inordered to walk to the nearest Metro station - Trocadero from the Effiel Tower.

We had a fruitful experience at both Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe...  Though I had been Paris way back in 2004, knowing that I am visiting Paris again makes me feel excited and happy. Thanks Baby for bringing me to Paris again.
