[USA TRIP] Day 3 - A day out to Brooktyn

This post about Brooklyn will be a short one, as I mostly shop in downtown Brooklyn instead of Manhattan. Shopping and dining is naturally cheaper in Brooklyn, hence my preference to do all my purchasing there!

Our breakfast was so darn cheap! Eating fast food in New York is even cheaper than having a salad!! Of course, this should be done in moderation as fast food is obviously unhealthy.

On our re-visit to Brooklyn for this trip, we again took the metro to Wall Street, in order to traverse the Brooklyn Bridge. Along the way, we took some photos with the iconic 'Charging Bull', but I found that there were waaaaaayy too many tourists now as compared to my last visit.

This was especially made evident on arrival at the Brooklyn Bridge, as previously there were hardly any people. On this visit, the bridge had throngs of people and peddlers hawking various trinkets and souvenirs! Brooklyn Bridge is accessible 24 hours a day, and it is quite the sight to behold. There are beautiful views at any time of the day, but I recommend watching the sunset if you are ever there. It gets pretty cold and chilly up on the bridge, but on a sunny day the rays do help to warm a person up!

On arrival in Brooklyn, we decided to have our lunch. The last time we were here, we had pizza at Grimaldi's but the long queues outside put us off, so we agreed to head to the 'Shake Shack' which was just next door. The food was quite good, and I can see why people think it is popular.

After the meal, we walked around and explored the beautiful Brooklyn Promenade.

We walked over to DUMBO (which the locals affectionately call 'Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass'). It is a tiny neighbourhood with a spectacular view of the Manhattan Skyline.

We left Brooklyn after a good time of shopping, and took the subway back to Manhattan for dinner.

We had our dinner at Barilla Restaurant which was a short walking distance away from our hotel. We had pasta here which was rather good, but I think the Spaghetti Incident which we had just visited before today was better.

I end my post with some shopping loots from Burlington and Nordstrom Rack. I picked up this Cosmetics Pouch which comes with a Mobile Charger from Juicy Couture at USD20 and a Baby G Watch which was on sale for just USD29! What a steal!

Shopping is fun in New York!

Comments

Fast foods in USA are very cheap. Good healthy foods have good highter price.
