[Christmas gathering] Knock Knock Café + Yardbird Southern Table and Bar
As the pandemic continues, my company's D&D was called off, and the budget that had been allocated for this event was instead given to the respective HODS in my company to organize dinner for their staff instead!! The budget for each head of staff was about SGD120. My Boss, D organized a dinner gathering at De Golden Spoon which is located at Tiong Bahru.
The Golden Spoon Bee Hoon Crab is one of the food items that cannot be missed! The broth was umami, filled with the aroma of the crab, and the bee hoon absorbed the essence from the broth which made it very tasty!
I loved the fresh Bamboo Clam which was steamed in soya sauce with glass noodles and lots of minced garlic.
The Fried Baby Squids were delicious, as its texture was a balanced ratio of crunchy and crispy mixed with a sweet sticky sauce akin to rojak sauce!
Thanks HMM for the dinner treat, and Boss D for the lovely Christmas goodies!
I am pretty pleased with this arrangement of working alternative weeks, as it will be nice to catch up with my office lunch mates during lunch as well as to see other colleagues that I've not met in a while! We dined in at Kazokutei Restaurant which is located at Bugis Junction. This set lunch cost me SGD9.90! It was pretty affordable and tasted good too!
I
met up with Wilfred, Meryl, CK and CF on a Christmas gathering and we
settled at Knock Knock Café which
is located pretty
near Kallang Station. This café bears a floral-theme and serves Asian
fusion cuisines.
We ordered the ‘Hae Bee Hiam’ Aglio Olio, ‘Lup Cheong’ & Bacon Carbonara, Seafood Laksa Pasta and Kreamy Mushroom Pasta.
Apart from the lovely main courses, we also had a bowl of Truffle Fries and a plate of Chicken Skin. The total damage was about SGD32 per pax!
Both
R and I arranged a Christmas Eve lunch for a gift exchange. S and E joined in
the gathering too! We settled at Yardbird Southern Table and Bar, which is
located at the Marina Bay Sands (MBS).
This
is the signature
dish of Yardbird - Chicken ‘N’
Watermelon ‘N’ Waffles. This platter is quite a sizable
meal and it is great for sharing. You get about 5 pieces of the chicken, served
with heaps of watermelon cubes as well as sides of crispy waffles. There is a
mixed selection of chicken parts - breast, wings and drumstick.
Beside a bar counter, it also offers a selection of small bites and
salads. The total damage was about SGD50 per pax! We love hanging out together
and I enjoy their companionship and we will arrange another meet-up soon!
Thanks girls for the Christmas pressies!
