Speciality Food & Drinks Asia 2023 (SFDA2023)

The Speciality Food & Drinks Asia 2023 (SFDA2023), Southeast Asia's leading trade show for artisan, gourmet, and fine food and beverages returned for the fifth edition this year at Sands Expo & Convention Centre.

The shows brought together global exhibitors and hospitality industry experts to Singapore for a series of exciting cooking demonstrations at the Fine Food Live Stage and panel discussions. The Tap Room also featured a range of the finest brews. There were many food and drink tasting sessions by many exhibitors during the show.

It was rather eye-opening for me, as it was the first-ever ASEAN Butchery Competition which brought together meat experts who demonstrated their craftsmanship in meat carving and presentation.

I enjoyed the Pistachio Baklava, and the pastries were created using only fresh ground premium pistachios and layers of finely kneaded filo pastries by traditional Turkish artisanal bakers.

Sim Soon Heng manufactures a wide selection of sauces, dips, dressings and marinades. Their most popular sauces are the Black Pepper Sauce, Salted Egg Sauce, Spicy Seafood Sauce and Chilli Crab Sauce. 

We sampled the Chilli Crab Sauce with Pasta and it enhanced the pasta with a strong spicy flavor!

The Algerian Dates are really fresh and tasted fabulous! Instead of the usual red dates that most people have tried before, they are brown colour and not overly sweet.

We visited the Thoughful Food Pte Ltd booth, and we savored chilli con carne made with plant-based beef protein. The dairy-free cheese sauce was made with HerBy-Cheese, which fell under the plant-based cheese range!

Van Houten launched vegan chocolate to attract consumers who are on a dairy-free diet. The vegan range comprises of Vegan Salted Caramel, Vegan Toasted Coconut Almond and Vegan Almond & Berries.

 I personally prefer the Vegan Almond & Berries the best!

This was the most interesting food creation by Yougin Bio. It is from South Korea, and they introduce ramen noodles for dogs and they offer different variants!
