[STGCC] Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention 2016

An annual event, the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) took place this year at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre on the 10-11 of September 2016. It attracted a massive crowd of locals as well as regional fans over the weekend it was held.

 
 
This yearly convention has never failed to bring the latest and coolest premium toys, games, anime and cos-playing showcases/displays to all the avid fans in Singapore. The STGCC 2016 combined the best of pop culture from the East and West, and it united the whole world with a common interest!

Recently, Disney's Tsum Tsum series has held a very special place in every girl's heart, and that includes me too! I have 6 Tsum Tsum plush toys under my own collection and they are Duffy Bear, Shellie Bear, Limited Easter Edition Piglet, Marie Cat, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.


 
The Seoul-based design powerhouse, Sticky Monster Lab (SML) which was founded in 2007 caught my attention during the 2-day exhibition.


 
SML collaborated with the winner of Designer Toy Awards 2015, Mighty Jaxx, to produce the limited XXRAY family version of their trademark characters, Yellowmon, Redmon and Bigmon. I was glad to catch the glimpse of these toy collectibles at STGCC 2016.
 
 
 
 
 
STGCC is a good treat for all fans as it is a golden opportunity to purchase exclusive limited edition toys, as well as to meet 'n' greet the creators/designers. Don't forget ask for their autographs as a keep-sake too!

 Thanks Claressa for asking me along to join her for the preview screening of Planes at GV VivoCity.   --- Posters of Planes ---         I was thinking to myself during the show, has PIXAR run out of ideas to make a movie? This movie has all the hallmarks of a standard PIXAR movie, such as Cars/Wall-E/Toy Story, with the looks and graphics being the same.     The movie, Planes is a carbon copy of 'Cars' with both the films logo being similar. [Nights with Netflix] Screening of Next Gen

Thanks Hpility , for extending your invite to me to attend the 'Nights with Netflix' event. This event was to check out Netflix's Singapore office, as well as to catch a special preview of an awesome screening! photo credits to hpility.sg   Netflix Singapore's office is located at Marina One West Tower , and it looked splendid! How I wish I could work in such a wonderful environment! The pantry looks just like an eatery place, and was well stocked with drinks, snacks and even cup noodles!   Nextflix won the global rights to stream the movie 'Next Gen' , and this newly animated movIe debuts on the 7th of September 2018 .  'Next Gen' is a family-friendly movie with pretty good computer animated visuals for a non-Disney/ Pixar/ DreamWorks production.     This film, 'Next Gen' was based on a short online comic from the Chinese Multimedia Company 'Baozou' .
