Opening Reception of World Gourmet Summit 2017
The World Gourmet Summit was first started in 1997, and it is a culinary event that is held annually in Singapore. Its objective is to showcase dining offerings in Singapore and promote local chefs while featuring Michelin-starred chefs and wine vintners from around the world.
The World Gourmet Summit
Awards of Excellence (AOE) 2017 honored 39 outstanding professionals and
establishments from F&B and hospitality industries. Singapore has attracted
and retained many repeat visitors and even well-known F&B industry
stakeholders into the country, and brings not only tourism dollars but
recognition within the region and on a global level.
I was glad to be
invited to the Opening Reception of World Gourmet Summit 2017 which
was held at the One Farrer Hotel & Spa.
Upon arrived at the
venue, we started our night with some Pellegrino Sparkling Water
before proceeding to the gourmet stations.
I met up Meryl by
sheer coincidence, and it was a pleasant surprise as it has been at least 2 months
since our last CNY meet-up!
I was introduced to
Newby, a premier fine tea company originating from UK. I tried out
their Earl Grey Tea, and it tasted very smooth and fragrant as they use only the
finest loose-tea leaves! One thing I found worth mentioning is that they
use Bio-degradable pouches that were akin to 'silken pyramids' to store and seal the tea leave for
freshness!
I also spotted their unique Zodiac
Tea Gift collection! Each Tea Caddy was adorned by Swarovski crystals!
Nothing beats having
great food and fantasy companionship. A photo is 'our' mandatory thing we normally do, and we ended our night at WGS 2017 as such!
I enjoyed everything that was lined up for us during the
opening reception. I will definitely be looking forward to the World
Gourmet Summit 2018.
