[DBS's Golden Jubilee Celebration] Sparks The Musical at Capitol Theatre

I was delighted to attend the LIVE performance of DBS's 'Sparks The Musical’, which was held at the Capitol Theatre, as part of DBS Bank's Golden Jubilee celebration.

The musical caps off the first season of DBS’s SPARKS, which first debuted in 2016. SPARKS has)garnered over 150 million views and a slew of prestigious marketing awards.

Visit the SPARKS page (https://www.dbs.com/sparks) to catch up on the series, and get to know more about the real-life stories behind each episode.

Guest of Honour PM Lee Hsien Loong addressing the audience at DBS Sparks The Musical

In 'SPARKS: The Musical', Adrian Pang reprises his role as Chester Teo, a no-nonsense DBS banker who cares deeply about his clients. This musical is a fitting tribute to the past, present, and the future of DBS.

The 'Sparks The Musical' performance is based on their award-winning 10 episodes web mini-series, SPARKS. The musical follows a group of dynamic DBS bankers as they navigate the challenges and opportunities at work and in their personal lives which were inspired by real-life stories. The musical also served as a tribute to the bank’s pioneers, as well as leaders and staff who have shaped DBS over the years.

PM Lee received a SGD50 note that has been in circulation since 1968 as commemorative gift from DBS at SPARKS: The Musical.

DBS was formerly known as the Development Bank of Singapore, and it was formed in 1968, three years after the independence of Singapore. Over the last 50 years, the bank has played a key role in shaping the physical landscape of Singapore and diversifying the economy. Today, DBS Bank is not just a leading bank in Singapore and Asia but also the World's Best Digital Bank!

Once again, wishing DBS Bank a very happy 50th birthday, and many happy returns! Thanks for the invite and kind hospitality. We enjoyed our tea reception very much!

The musical took me back in time to witness DBS's tremendous journey. It features many unsung Heroes who played crucial roles who made the Bank what is it today. Through this musical, I understood and learnt more about this leading Bank in Asia, which has been recognised globally for its digital leadership!
