Food tasting at Good Bites Cafe

The folks from Citrus By The Pool came up with a new eatery place for you to bring your family and friends for a scrumptious feast! This is definitely a piece of good news to all friends who are residing in the north. Located right beside Bishan Sports Hall, Good Bites Cafe offers a variety of western and Asian fusion cuisine, which has recently released healthy bowls for healthy consumers. Good Bites believes that healthy food can be delicious, and their goal is to introduce more healthy dining and meal selections soon!

Upon stepping into the premises, we were all attracted by the main entrance of the cafe. We couldn’t resist taking photos against the background. Thanks for having us at this arranged private tasting session.

Good Bites Cafe has an extensive menu of selection of various food! Most importantly, the café offers reasonable price tags which allows one to enjoy an affordable dining experience!

Before we kicked off on our tasting session, we ordered some refreshing teas and yummy milkshakes. We had the 'Lychee Tea' (SGD5.50) and the 'Minty Green Tea with Honey!' (SGD3.90)

Check out their mighty milkshakes which are priced from SGD7.90 - SGD10.90, and there are 6 to choose from - Classic Vanilla, Double Chocolate, Strawberry Gem, Caramel Popcorn, Cookie Crush and Snickerhead. Do share these massive milkshake drinks with your buddy, as they are generous in their portions.

The Cookie Crush (SGD9.90) is a rich cookies n’ cream ice-cream shake that is blended with Oreo cookies bits and topped with whipped Cream and a full Oreo cookie for an Instagram-worthy photo. The Strawberry Gem (SGD8.90) is a classic strawberry milkshake that is topped with childhood's popular gem biscuits for a retro comeback experience!

Healthy bowls are generally more expensive, and to target health-conscious diners, the eatery has come up  with a healthy bowl menu that consists of a 'Prawn Salsa' Bowl, 'Baked Salmon' Bowl and a 'Herb Citrus Roasted Chicken' Bowl. Among all these choices, I felt the Chicken Bowl was the best. The chicken meat tasted citrusy and tender.

I loved the melt-in-my-mouth taste of the bowl! The bowl is also served with Multi-grain Tortilla Chips, Grilled Cherry Tomatoes, Brown Rice, Sauteed Mushrooms, Broccoli and a Hard Boiled Egg!

Each bowl is going for SGD15. There are 3 different types of dressing sauces to go with your healthy bowl (Tarta, Sesame soy and Paprika Yoghurt)

The Fried Chicken and Waffles (SGD15.90) is a classic dish from America, and I was happy to see it on the menu. To me, chicken and waffles such a classic pairing! After drenching the maple syrup onto the crispy chicken, it enhanced the whole dish. I like the dish tasted as the sweetness and savory taste meshed well together.

Apart from their popular burger - BIG boss, the Good Bites Team has introduced tastier burgers with a local twist! Welcome the all new burger - Egg-ploding Burger (SGD12.90) which is served with Cajun Fries. The crispy deep-fried chicken thigh which served as the patty of the burger went so well with the egg nacho mayo sauce! I enjoyed every bit of it!

The signature Tom Yum Seafood Pasta (SGD13.90) is an all-time classic at Citrus By The Pool, and the owner decided to bringthis popular dish to Good Bites Cafe too, in order to allow more patrons to savor this dish! This Thai-inspired dish tasted delicious with a distinctive hot and sour flavor that will be well sought after by many Singaporean foodies.

The Dry Laksa Pasta (SGD12.90) - The Al Dente linguine is coated with delicious, spicy sauce and is served with sliced fish cakes and topped with crunchy taupok cubes. This dish is definitely worth mentioning!

We ended our session with Homemade Apple Crumble with a serving of one scoop of ice cream (SGD7.90). It is famous for its sweet-yet-sharp flavor, and this British classic hearty dessert has been a household favorite for a long time.

For another choice of dessert, indulge yourself with the restaurant's signature Molten Chocolate Lava Cake (SGD10.90), which is a chocolate cake that has 'lava' chocolate filling inside. The cake itself is topped with icing sugar and is served with a scoop of ice cream. I did feel a tad guilt upon seeing the runny chocolate fudge flowing out of the lava cake! I simply loved the warm and rich chocolate lava cake which had a subtle sweetness to it! The Molten Chocolate Lava Cake with Ice Cream is definitely a must-have when you visit Good Bites!

Before leaving Good Bites Cafe, Dawn brought us to a stairway that overlooked the roof of the cafe. WOW! It looks so beautiful yet magical at night. Lastly, thanks Good Bites Cafe for having us!
