[France Summer Vacation] Day 05: A day trip to Versailles Château + Lunch at Chez Lazare

We had a quick and early breakfast before taking the RER Line C to Versailles Château – Rive Gauche, followed by a 10-minute walk to the palace.

It is located 20km from the main city of Paris, which took us approximately 45-60mins to reach. As expected, the line was incredibly long, so pre-purchase or reservation of tickets in advance online in conjunction with the museum pass is recommended! Our museum passes did not let us skip the security line, but as a museum pass holder, we were given a priority access security line though.

The Palace of Versailles is still one of the most-visited attractions in Paris. The Palace offers an incredible insight into French history, illuminating the lavish and ostentatious lives the former monarchs used to live.

The Palace of Versailles is one of my highlight tours in Paris. It is definitely worth a visit, as we learnt a lot about French history. No visit to Paris would be complete without seeing the Palace of Versailles with your own eyes! This place is truly gigantic and not be rushed. Be sure not to miss visiting this place!

I love the hall of mirrors, and I was truly overwhelmed by the experience. This outing was such a magical day for me!

After touring the Palace of Versailles, we made a short walk to Chez Lazare for lunch.

The Mussels with Fries was delicious — the garlic and wine sauce really amped up the mussels.

The damage was pretty reasonable, and do not miss out on the Crème Brulee when comes to dessert options! Chez Lazare is a good choice for dining and definitely NOT a tourist trap!
