[Birthday Celebration] Staycation at JW Marriott Singapore South Beach
It’s another year of travelling restrictions due
to the world-wide COVID-19 pandemic situation. Though travelling is now
possible, it is still quite a hassle, so we went through another way to
celebrate my birthday by having a staycation. This has becoming the norm now
for celebrating milestones such as anniversaries and birthdays!
Baby surprised me with a splendid staycation in order to give me a good celebration on my birthday. He booked a Deluxe Suite Room at the JW Marriott Singapore South Beach.
The check-in time was at 3pm, but we were
delighted to collect our room keys around 1-ish. The check-in lobby is well decorated with a unique log seating area!
Upon entering the Deluxe Suite Room, we were
amazed at how spacious the room was, as it consists of a living hall and
bedroom. There were two toilets in the room, whereby there was one in our main
bedroom, and one in the living hall near the main entrance. I guess this was
for convenience, in case you needed to go before leaving the room!
The view from the bedroom was beautiful!
I absolutely love the spacious bathroom area!
I went over to the bathroom and found that the
toiletries offered were from Aromatherapy Associates.
Apart from the toiletries, we
also felt pampered by the other hotel amenities provided by the hotel too.
Most importantly, they provided us with a hygiene kit which contained a bottle
of Sanitizer and 2 face masks.
The hotel also provided TWG tea bags for their
staying guests in the room, and naturally, we helped ourselves to the tea while
watching movies in the room!
After checked-in, we dropped our bags and did a mandatory room tour video. We went to the Club Lounge to enjoy an afternoon tea.
Being a suite guest, we could enjoy the club benefits offered by the hotel
freely. We had an unlimited serving of afternoon tea at the club lounge! The set
consists of sandwiches, hot items and desserts. What a great indulgence to
start off our staycation with JW Marriott Singapore South Beach.
Baby booked a table at Madame Fan which is
located The NCO Club (beside JW Marriott Hotel) for our dinner. It was a
7-course Cantonese cuisine.
We started off with Truffle Wasabi Prawn & Pan-seared King Oyster Mushroom Salad, followed by Double-boiled Baby Cabbage Consommé, Matsutake Mushroom Soup and Steamed Chilean Seabass, Green Ginger Sauce. We loved them very much, especially the Steamed Seabass. The Truffle Wasabi Prawn tasted exquisitely delicious!
The dinner continued with Fragrance Spring Chicken Garlic, Stir-fried Asparagus, Shiitake, Buna Shimeji and ended with Alaskan King Crab Meat Fried Rice, Ikura.
Lastly, we ended our meal with some LNY featured
desserts.
Our dinner was really both our thumbs up! My
favorites had to be the Truffle Wasabi Prawn & Pan-seared King Oyster
Mushroom Salad and Steamed Chilean Seabass, Green Ginger Sauce! As most
people would say, fine-dining offers quality over quantity! Luckily, the
desserts filled us up!
At the South Beach Tower, I could really feel the strong Chinese New Year mood/vibe! I took some random photos against the CNY decos!
The hotel was so kind to send us a small
birthday cake and a greeting card.
Our stay was inclusive of breakfast, and I must
say the selection was pretty good and wide. Buffet spreads are now available at
the counter, but there is a staff to help you to take the food from the counter
instead of pre-pandemic times whereby we were allowed to help ourselves to the food.
We made about 3-4 rounds serving, and I personally really prefer the traditional buffet, whereby I get to walk around thinking/looking on what to eat next as compared to the Ala Carte ordering by scanning the QR code to obtain the menu.
We
went to the swimming pool to have a quick swim before leaving the hotel at 3pm.
Sadly, good things come to an end, and we had to check out after our swim. The service provided by the JW Marriott Singapore South Beach was awesome, and we truly had a wonderful staycation!
