[CLOVER FILMS] A guide for the movie lovers

I attended the Clover Films event at Fullerton Hotel. They presented some upcoming and new movies releases that we can look forward to in 2015!
Clover Films is a Singapore Based Film Distributor who ensure they promote the best Asian movies, ranging from countries such as Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, China/Hong Kong, and even some of our home-grown Singaporean ones!
Let me share with you on some of the upcoming movies which scripts I find interesting.
I love action packed movies, so I will not let BLACK & WHITE: THE DAWN OF JUSTICE slip away from me, and its premier is on 9th October 2014.
Panic spreads through the whole city as a series of bomb explosions occurs within hours of each other. Righteous and impulsive, Wu Ying-Xiong is paired up with the intelligent but arrogant loner Chen Zhen to track down the mastermind behind the bombing incidents. They discover that the bombings are just the prelude to massive destruction.
Cast: Mark Chao, Lin Gengxin
For people who like movies based on true events/stories, you should not miss HAEMOO which will be premiering on the 16th October 2014.
I watched the trailer during the Clover Films event, and it really captured my attention to find out what happened next! This movie has been selected as the Korea Entry for the 87th Academy Award Best Foreign Language Film.
Based on true events, HAEMOO is the story of a group of fishermen who are driven into madness when their attempt to smuggle illegal migrants ends in a horrible tragedy. Six crew members –led by the captain, is the kind-hearted chief engineer Wan-ho (played by Moon Sung-Geun) who had an eventful life and lives hidden on the boat, and the naive and youngest crew member Dong-Shik (starring Park Yoo Chun) who just started working aboard the ship recently and they begin their dream of having their boat with a full load of fish. However on the open sea, they are transporting something, it is not meat but human beings!
Cast: Kim Yun-Seok, Park Yoo-Chun, Han Ye-Ri, Moon Sung-Geun, Kim Sang-Ho
Most females love romantic/comedy movies as they are pretty light-hearted and mostly end with a happy ending. I want to watch MY GEEKY NERDY BUDDIES as Jam Hsiao acts in the show! It is premiering on 30th October 2014
Otaku (starring Jam Hsiao) and his roommate Mr. Cheap (played by Da Peng) as known as the ultimate geeks of their university. However, like any normal guy, their goal is to fall in love with their girls of their dreams. To get close to his goddess Mei (starring Xie Na), Mr. Cheap pretends to be a spoiled rich kid, appearing everywhere she goes. Meanwhile, the introverted Otaku tries to create a chance to talk to class beauty Ling (played by Maggie Jiang) by running into her in the hallway, only to have his plan fail awkwardly. The school’s legendary couples party is fast approaching, and the only person to show up without a date will be etched on the 'pillar of shame' and be mocked forever. To avoid this catastrophic fate, Otaku and Mr. Cheap decide to win their goddesses over by being sincere and earnest.
Cast: Jam Hsiao, Maggie Jiang, Xie Na, Da Peng

Horror movie lovers are in for a treat now, as Clover Films will be preparing for you 2 movies to satisfy your desires and craving!
BRING BACK THE DEAD is a local production movie which is starring Jesseca Liu, Jacko Chiang and Liu Ling Ling. Do show your support for local films!
A grieving mother, Jia En (played by Jesseca Liu) loses her seven-year-old son who dies in a tragic road accident. She seeks help from her former caregiver, Mdm Seetoh (starring Liu Ling Ling) to bring back her son's soul so he can be 'by her side' at home. However after strange and deadly occurrences in the house, she begins to suspect that there is something wrong with the soul she has brought back. She unravels the horrific truth which may cost her life and the lives of those around her.

The Thai horror movie, THE EYES DIARY will be premiering on 11th December 2014. It has been three month since Nott lost his beloved girlfriend, Pla in the motorcycle accident. He tries to find a way to find Pla's soul by joining the emergency crew as a volunteer. However, things are not that simple, his friend, John at the Volunteer Foundation tries to tell him not to ask for problems, as seeing spirits are not things to be taken lightly. Nott refuses to listen and continues to confront the haunting spirits hoping they may be able to lead him to Pla. There is one thing he has never expected that everything that is happening is actually under Pla's watchful eyes.

During the event, I took some photos with fellow bloggers and of course group photos to round up the event.
