[food review] New Teck Kee Chicken Rice serves Truffle Chicken Rice Platter

Chicken rice is our national hawker dish, and is a favorite/comfort food of many Singaporeans! We can hardly go wrong with it!

Looking for a nice simple place for a meal of Singapore? If local dishes like laksa or zi char that suits your taste, then the New Teck Kee Chicken Rice restaurant in Rail Mall might be your kind of place. Chicken rice is their speciality but the restaurant also serves a wide range of zichar favorites such as stir-fried vegetables, shrimp rolls, fried omelette and etc.


 

New Teck Kee Chicken Rice introduces Truffle Chicken Rice Platter, (SGD23) which serves from three to five pax. This large chicken rice platter drizzled with truffle oil was introduced by their 2nd-gen owner, who intends to give a breakthrough to the traditional chicken rice. It is a gentle kind of break away from tradition! Do note that this is a new item, and you may not be able to find it on their physical menu. Do not worry though, as it is already available for ordering!

 

 

The platter was uniquely served on a basket-looking type plate. Once the dish was placed on our table, the aroma of truffle oil wafted through the air. This communal platter features plenty of fragrant rice with both poached and roasted chicken, and is garnished with cucumber and tomato slices. The white truffle oil is drizzled all over the grains and chicken meat, and one can really enjoy the moist and smooth meat! I personally think that this is a refreshing change if you crave for something beyond the traditional/classic offering.

[Nights with Netflix] Screening of Next Gen

Thanks Hpility , for extending your invite to me to attend the 'Nights with Netflix' event. This event was to check out Netflix's Singapore office, as well as to catch a special preview of an awesome screening! photo credits to hpility.sg   Netflix Singapore's office is located at Marina One West Tower , and it looked splendid! How I wish I could work in such a wonderful environment! The pantry looks just like an eatery place, and was well stocked with drinks, snacks and even cup noodles!   Nextflix won the global rights to stream the movie 'Next Gen' , and this newly animated movIe debuts on the 7th of September 2018 .  'Next Gen' is a family-friendly movie with pretty good computer animated visuals for a non-Disney/ Pixar/ DreamWorks production.     This film, 'Next Gen' was based on a short online comic from the Chinese Multimedia Company 'Baozou' .
