Weekend indulge

Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King is a fairly new ramen eatery place located in Orchid Hotel, Tras Link. They only serve ramen... At Tonkotsu King, you get to personalise your ramen by filling a questionaire-like order chit to define the soup base (Original, Black Spicy or Red Spicy) strength of broth and the noodle texture... There are free-flow of toppings for your noodles which consist of hard boiled eggs, spicy marinated bean sprout pickles and bonita flakes to add in...

The eatery area is REALLY very small, as it can only accomodate 20 or less people, therefore for a big group gathering or for those looking for options apart from ramen, you can give this place a miss... The ambience of the eatery place, I felt is the kinda place which is good for a quick meal and then move on...

Long queues are expected due to the size of the eatery place, hence do have patience to wait for a table for at least 20-30 minutes...

Once I stepped into the eatery place, the whole place was full of delish pork bone smell... Our ramen arrived shortly after we were seated...

Baby ordered Tonkotsu Ramen with Seaweed... The chashu slice was huge and it was lean too, it tasted pretty authentic...

I had Black Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with Flavoured egg... The broth was very flavourful and hearty and I slurped up every single drop of the broth... the noodles was springy and it paired pretty well with the soup...

The flavoured egg was pretty well flavoured, the yolk was cold and slight runny inside, but it was not as tasty as Marutama's... Generally, as a whole was above average but somehow, I still prefer Ippudo. The free condiments were REALLY worth a mention...

The damage was SGD30 flat, do remember, only CASH term...

We ordered the meat platter which consisted of Char Siew, Roast Duck and Roast Pork Belly...

The Char Siew was super dark, charred and glistened with burnt maltose, wonderfully marbled with a sinful layer of fat in the center.

Kay Lee Roast Meat Joint is also well-known for their Roast Duck too, the ducks were roasted till the skin is crispy and lacquered brown. The duck meat was tender and aromatic.

The Roast Pork Belly was pretty good too, the skin was very crispy and the seasoning was just perfect for my tastebuds... The meat was tender and flavourful.

We ordered the White Radish Soup too, it went well with our meal...

Overall, I love the Charred Char Siew the best... A promising meal for me will be Char Siew with steamed rice, topped with Brown Hoisin-like gravy sauce... OM! I am drooling while writing this post...

Our meal cost us SGD26, it is kinda pricey... Oh well, being a fan of roasted meats, it is worth splurging on...

Kay Lee serves irresisitibly good Char Siew with it being charred, and the coating is caramelized. In addition there is soft fat around the succulent meat...

The Char Siew is so popular that they can be sold out before dinner... The crowds get crazy on weekends with many customers ordering takeaways...
