[USA TRIP] Day 4 - A trip to American Museum of Natural History

MY OOTD

OUR OOTD

My visit to the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) was splendid! This post of the AMNH will be more akin to a picture blog, and I will let the pictures do the talking!

We took a 30-minute walk from our hotel, and along the way, we passed by the New York Public Library which is located near to fifth avenue. It is a prominent Historic Landmark in Midtown Manhattan.

We continued our journey to Central Park. This is our 2nd visit to the park!

We took some random photos at the park, as this park is the most visited urban park in the United States, as well as one of the most filmed locations in the world.

We stopped by at the BOATHOUSE for some light refreshments.

We made a trip down to the American Museum of Natural History which is located at Central Park West. It is one of the largest as well as one of the most celebrated monumental museums in the world.

We paid USD15 for 2 people's admission to the museum. Although the museum recommends a fee of USD25 per pax, you can, for obvious reasons, neglect to follow this and opt to pay whatever you wish. You might get stares from staff though, if you pay too little! However, it is well known fact that museum is funded and visitors can elect to pay any amount they wish to.

What makes this museum so special is that it is the film location of the blockbuster movie, ‘Night at the Museum’ starring Ben Stiller. The main lobby features an enormous skeleton of Barosaurus Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex, as seen in the movie.

The museum collection contain over 32 million specimens of plants, animals, fossils, minerals, rocks, meteorites and human cultural artifacts.

There is an array of permanent exhibits to explore in the museum.

We had our lunch at the eatery place which is located within the museum.

Lastly, we stopped by the souvenir shop to bring back some mementos with us before leaving the museum.

It was an eye opener for me, as it was an amazing place to visit!

Do note that the museum is enormous and the visit might take the entire day! Hope my post can assist you in understanding more about the American Museum of Natural History when you do your itinerary planning while visiting New York.
