Masquerade Gala Night of The Phantom of the Opera

Thanks Base Entertainment for the invitation to the Masquerade Gala Night of The Phantom of the Opera. I was excited that this musical is now back in Singapore once again! This is a legendary masterpiece that all faithful fans should not give it a miss.

I was looking forward to watch this magnificent and all-time favorite musical. I loved the stage setting, props and especially the Chandelier with the ornaments and gold engravings! Special mention has to go to the Elephant prop in once scene!

Watching and listening to the musical LIVE was amazing and I love everything about it, be it the music, the settings or the singing…

Due to the theme of night being a 'Masquerade Gala Night', the team from Base Entertainment prepared masks and roses for us to join into the fun! They really made awesome photo props for us!

If you think ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ by Andrew Lloyd Webber is going to be a bore even after its long run on stage all over the world, you are very wrong! The musical’s love-triangle story may seem to be cliché, but this masterpiece by Andrew Lloyd Webber will never fail to impress everybody who is watching it for the first time. Even for Iong time fans such as myself, it is a foregone conclusion that we will still enjoy the musical score in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’! This musical is one of the greatest and darkest love stories of all time.

Jonathan Roxmouth plays the most famous character in musical theatre history, the Phantom in 'The Phantom of the Opera'. He brings out the role as the Phantom brilliantly, and he injected emotions into his role when he sang ‘Music of the Night’ which attracted me to this song very much. His character as the ‘hideous creature of the night’ broke my heart, especially as he reveals his feelings of hurt as love is more than physical deformities and scars under a mask.

Meghan Picerno fit well into her role of 'Christine'. She acted well and she conveyed her emotions of fear and love amazingly, which made the love triangle between her, the Phantom, and 'Raoul' (Played by Matt Leisy) tragic but beautifully done. I loved her singing too!

The special effects were stunning and the play was brilliant all thanks to the stellar cast and fabulous stage props. Do not miss out on the world’s most successful and longest-running show on Broadway while they are still in town.

Be moved again by the tragic tale of the phantom, the stirring scenes of this hit musical, and be enchanted by the song pieces which is running from now till the 8-Jun 2019 at the Mastercard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands.
