[Staycation] Urban Escape at PARKROYAL COLLECTION, PICKERING

As Baby was searching for our next staycation, he discovered a wonderful package offered by PARKROYAL COLLECTION PICKERING. It was an Urban Escape Suite Package which included a two-way transfer arranged by the hotel, Ala carte buffet dinner for 2, Ala carte buffet breakfast for 2, Club facilities access, a bottle of champagne and a body massage at the St. Gregory Spa for 2.

 

Our gift for each other is a one-night staycation, in order to give each other a well-deserved break from our hectic work schedule. We were glad to check-in to the PARKROYAL COLLECTION PICKERING to enjoy a one night stay at the suite room!

Prior to our check-in, we arranged our transfer to pick us up from Woodlands around 130pm. Our transfer came promptly as scheduled.

 

Upon reaching the hotel premises, we proceeded with our check-in. As our room was not ready yet due to they were running full occupancy the night before, we were given the club access key card to the Club Lounge to enjoy an afternoon tea while waiting for our room to be ready.

An unlimited serving of afternoon tea at the club lounge! The set consists of assorted sandwiches, a couple of dim sum items, scones and cakes. The hotel staff came up to the club lounge to pass the room key to us, and informed that we can enter the room at any time after our meal.

Upon entering the room, we were amazed at how spacious the room was, as it consists of a living room and bedroom. I absolutely love the spacious bathroom area!

Check out the view and setting of the room! I was very surprised to discover that all refreshments in the minibar were complimentary. There were various drinks and snacks.

The toiletries offered were from Elemis, and these products are from London. Apart from the toiletries, we also felt pampered by the other hotel amenities provided by the hotel too. Most importantly, they provided us with a hygiene kit which contained a bottle of Sanitizer and 2 face masks.

The hotel provided TWG tea bags for their staying guests in the room, and naturally, we helped ourselves to the tea while watching movies in the room!

Our room package included a bottle of champagne - Piper-Heidsieck. The hotel was so kind to send us a strawberry garden dessert for us! It is SO CUTE! I loved dipping the strawberries in either the chocolate or caramel that was provided, and then covered it with the chocolate garden ‘soil’ before eating them! They were delicious!

We continued to ‘lepak’ in our room until about 6pm. We went to the swimming pool to have a quick swim before heading for our dinner at Lime Restaurant at 7.30pm.

Our stay was inclusive of dinner, and I must say the selection was pretty good and wide. Now that buffet spreads are not allowed and ala carte buffet is the new norm, we made our orders by scanning the QR code to view the menu!

 

We ordered about 3-4 rounds of the seafood and oysters platter! We enjoyed our dinner very much! I personally still prefer the traditional buffet, whereby I get to walk around thinking and looking on what to eat next. Baby prefers the usual buffet too as his own interpretation is that he can take small amounts of different varieties of food each time. He prefers variety over quantity!

Our stay was inclusive of breakfast, and we had our ‘Champagne Breakfast’ at the Club Lounge instead. A free flow of champagne was rendered to us throughout our breakfast.

 

After looking through the menu that was provided to us at the club lounge, I must say that the selection was pretty good! We made our order at the table by looking through the given menu. We made several rounds of orders!

As we only managed to book the 60-minute body massage at the St. Gregory Spa on our check-out day, we requested for a late check-out at 2pm instead. Since our transfer back home from the hotel was at 2.30 pm, this was perfect timing for us. We truly had a wonderful staycation with PARKROYAL COLLECTION PICKERING!
